A little note for all you TM! OAV purists: I am using the first TV
series in the Destiny's Path series. If anyone has a problem with
that, you know my E-mail address.
It would help if you have seen TV episode 18 "No Need For Ghosts" if
you want to understand this teaser.

Teaser 2: Destiny's Path: Interlude: Fleet in Exile
***********************************************************************
Space is big.
Really, really big.
So big...it's amazing how big it is.
Space is so big, that the little things, like the ships man and
other races use to ply through the vastness of space, are sorta lost
among the big picture of space.
It can then be understood that sometimes a ship can sometimes be
lost with all hands and have no one care about it.
Such is the case for a luxury starship floating among a asteroid
belt 8.7 light years from the Jurai system.
Admittedly, the ship had done nothing to attract attention to
itself. It had long since gone dead, it's power source failed.
And it was sitting in the middle of a group of asteroids with the
peculiar ability to absorb any radiation in the area for a short period
of time.
No wonder then, that the starship had floated there for god only
knows how long without attracting attention.
Only once, in it's long stay there, had one other ship drifited
close enough for the asteroids to affect that ship.
But once was enough for one person on the "ghost ship", and
another on the visitor's ship.
**Present day(2025)**
The ship was floating there, in a vastness of space that
cannot be comprended logically. To truly comprend the vastness that
the ship was sitting in, we must compare the works of the great
philosophers....
<Several chairs, tables, anvils, and BFMs (Big Freaking
Mallets) hit the writer as he sits writing this. The cry is clear:
"GET ON WITH IT ALREADY!!!!">
Okay, okay!! Where was I? Oh yes, the ship's eternal rest
was disturbed by the arrival of two other ships, specially shielded
against the asteroids effect.
One of the ships looked like a rather large boxcar with engines
attached to it. Weapon emplacements dotted the hull at places, and two
large launch decks were set in the sides of the ship. On the hull was
painted "E.S.S. Wayfarer".
The second ship....well....it looked like a tree. At least,
a tree if God had let a abstract artist have a crack at designing a
tree from the start. Yet, it also looked like it could sail among the
stars, and although it didn't look the part, it was fearsomely
powerful.
As the two ships neared the derelict, a third ship detached
from the Jurai ship. Looking like it was made out of crystal, it sped
towards the derelict. If we could hear sounds in space, we could
possibly hear the crystal ship meowing....
***on the derelict***
The woman stepped in the dusty, forboding room and looked
around. The only hint of some color in the room was on the mantle,
where a picture of two smiling girls and...some kind of animal was
positioned. On the picture itself, was a small shimmering heart.
The woman smiled. <We did have fun back then> she thought,
suddenly remembering scaring Mihoshi and Kiyone back then. She giggled
as she remembered Kiyone's frozed look of shock. *Literally* frozen.
<I guess she hightailed it back the the Yagami, with Mihoshi not far
behind, I imagine> she thought.
She sat down in one of the dusty chairs. <Ack! Smaller than
I remember> she thought, <but then, I'm not so small anymore.> A small
furry creature jumped into her lap. "Here's hoping she remembers us,
Ryo-oki." she said to the cabbit.
A mirror in the room suddenly filled with light. The woman
and the cabbit turned to look as a young brown haired girl stepped out
of the mirror into the room. The woman smiled and Ryo-oki meowed in
delight.
"Hello, Mirei." Tsunami said. "I'm back."
***aboard the E.S.S. Wayfarer***
"How long is she going to be?" Captain Lee Lucas asked for
the seventh time.
"Relax, would you? This is important to her, and for
Tenchi." Jurai Fleet Admiral Ryoko (okay you can stop facefaulting
now!) said from her position near the tatical board. "She just has to
visit an old friend one last time. Besides, it gave you an excuse to
take the Wayfarer out for a test run, didn't it?" she continued.
Captain Lucas sighed. "I guess you're right, Admiral.
It's just my protective reflexes popping up again. You do realize that
she's the reason the EDF was granted sanctuary in Jurai in the first
place. If anything happens to her, who knows what will happen to us,
and by far reaching extension, the universe?"
Ryoko sighed. "You have a point there," she concided,
"but you do know that Jurai's military supports your effort in every
way, and we will honor the treaty and we will participate in any effort
to retake Earth." She sighed again. "Besides, if anything happened to
Tsunami, Tenchi would never forgive me." She paused. "And neither
would I." she whispered.
A communications tech interuppted the two. "Captain,
Admiral, we are receving a transmission from Galaxy Police HQ,
Detective Lt. Kiyone."
"Oh good, punch it though." Captain Lucas asked the tech.
Kiyone's face filled the holoscreen in front of Admiral
Ryoko and Captain Lucas. "Hi Kiyone," Ryoko said, "I trust you found
something on our mystery ship?"
"Yeah, I have." Kiyone said. "And the folks from the EDF
are going to find a strange coincidence in the answer, given their
naval history."
"Huh? Kiyone, what do you mean?" Captain Lucas asked.
"See for yourself." Kiyone punched the data file through
to the Wayfarer. Ryoko and Lucas looked over the file. Keel weight,
estimated tonnage, speed, date of disappearance, name.....
They both blinked. "You have got to be kidding me!"
Ryoko exclaimed.
"You took the words right out of my mouth." Captain Lucas
replied, with a suprised look on her face.
The name of the derelict ship-which Tsunami (who had
once been Sasami) and Ryo-oki were on, visiting an old friend, in one
of the strangest cosmic coincidences know to the Universe, one which
possibly Sailor Pluto would be at a loss to explain...
<The BFMs hit the writer again. "GET ON WITH IT!!!">
The name of the ship?
S.S. Titanic.

Teaser's notes:
I'm sorry. I just had to do it. The "cosmic joke" was simply
begging to be told.
Anyone catch the Douglas Adams reference? I hope I did it right,
it's been a few months since I read The Hitchhikers Guide.
The Wayfarer is in "honor" ( :-) ) of another fictional space
warship, the "Wayfarer" as depicted in David Weber's "Honor Among
Enemies" in the Honor Harrington series.
Well, that's it. Keep watching for the Director's Cut of "I Do"
and watch for "The Circle Opens", the next two thrilling stories in the
Destiny's Path series!
Final Note: Anyone have any suggestions for music for this series?
(Alissa, Heather, and Meredith, that means you as well. :-) )
Ja ne!
