I think that everyone is debating an issue when nobody will really see what is going on until the next chapter or maybe after that.  Also, there is no reason that this fanfic *needs* to be changed.  Granted, a few people might be happier reading it if Ranma acted more like they think he would, but the majority of us are not here to please others.  We're here to write, and a good writer knows that his fanfiction is not going to appeal to everyone.  Sure, Nick could easily go back and make a few changes to make "Clothes Make the..." more acceptable to the masculine-masses, but if he changed the story to make other people happy would he still end up with the story that he (and others) set out to write?

Concerning the "Jekyll-and-Hyde" comparison, I think it is pretty obvious that Ranma's personality is not switching back and forth.  He is *losing* his personality and a new one will take its place once he figures out what he wants to do with his life.

Nick: Don't worry about changing something for others.  Change scenes only if they seem wrong to *you.*  I look forward to the next chapter and although when reading your last post I wasn't able to make any sense of what's gone wrong this month, I hope whatever it is works out or that you can deal with it.

Gary, Richard:  If you've spent the time to give someone C&C on a fic you may deserve recognition for your work; but don't always expect it.  Nick seems to totally disagree with both of you, and although I stand on his side of this little debate I know that you are simply speaking your minds when you contest his ideas.  You've done your job as C&C'ers, now back off of the issue for a while and let the authors do their jobs.  I know if I were the author of 'Clothes Make the...' the fanfic would be put on indefinite hold until everyone dropped the issue because I'd be too distracted with other people's views to write my own.  C&C is always a good thing, but when it boils down to an outright decision concerning how a character will act in a given situation the author has to make that decision.  The rest of us have to live with it or not read it.
