Yet another pointless crossover teaser by Richard Beaubien

Once again not spell checked, grammar checked, or Insanity checked.
Consider yourself warned....

Every one has a secret.

Be it something as small as stealing a cookie from a Cookie jar or
something as big as the truth about aliens from another planet everyone is
hiding something from a group of people. Some do it for a sense of self
preservation, other do it for the good of humanity, and still others do it
for a laugh.

However not every secret remains a secret forever, truths that shouldn't
be found out are found out. And the resulting shock waves can shake
people, governments, and even an entire society.

Once such secret was revealed today...

"And the Japanese government still has no comment on the tape handed in by
an unknown source to NHK eye witness news. The tape reveals what is
theorized to be a top secret JSDF commando group fighting a monster.
Experts have already dismissed it as being a labor since it is smaller
than the average labor and has an organic look to it. The tape has baffled
the scientific community with...<*Click*>"

The screen of the TV shrank into a small dot before it disappeared, but
the full effects of the announcement still weighed heavily on everyone
assembled. At the head of the table stood was a man dressed in a casual
outfit. And outfit that would normaly not be fitting of the chief of Tokyo's
metropolitan police. But then the gravity of the crisis that hit them on
this Sunday meant that no time could be wasted on formal traditions.

"Gentleman, as you now know this tape has been leaked to news authorities
across the world. And because of that the spin doctoring that we can
usually do to contain stories like this won't work. Besides that the damage
was done before we could even meet today." The chief coughed as he lit
another cigarette. The room seemed full of smoke, it's thickness serving
as a visual remainder of the tension of the room.

"But sir, what does this have to do with us? Isn't this a JSDF problem?"
One of the section chiefs across the table asked.

"Isn't it obvious, the public will be in a state of fear and tension now
that they know for sure that these 'Youma' exist," A young man in a clean
cut suit answered at the end of the table. He neither looked tired and
worn like the others or had a cigarette in his hand. "And the public will
wonder what we, the police, will do about this new threat."

"But we can't fight Youma, we don't even know how the JSDF does it. And we
don't even know if these are really monsters and not some fake fan boy
fantasy!!!"

"The tapes are real, a contact in the JSDF confirmed that," The police
chief replied putting out his cigarette, "but I wasn't able to find out
the most important thing from them. How they deal with these, these
things."

"But then how do we handle them!?!" Another section chief asked from
across the room, a look of worry across his fan and the others. They most
certainly didn't want their men to go into a monster fight unprepared.

"We don't need to fight them," the man in the suit laughed as he drank
from a glass of water, "We just need to look like we're fighting them."

"Nani?"

"What we need is a public display unit, something we can show to the
public so they can feel safe at night from these monsters." The chief
said, "and then we can leave the hard part to the JSDF."

"But isn't that like a Shop window unit, something made just for show?"

"Yes, just like the SV2 is," the chief chuckled under his breath, "In fact
that's where they're going to be stationed."

******

"And just 24 hours since the release of the tape the command of the Tokyo
metropolitan police announced publicly their 'Youma task force' headed up
by an unnamed captain. This new task force will be moved to the SV2
headquarters and will be working with them to develop new, safe ways of
disposing of any monster that attack Tokyo. And I don't know about you
Tesumo-san, but I don't think any monster could stand up to a labor....."

'Moshi Moshi Okaasan!!!

It's me your number one Daughter Usagi-san from the Narita Women's police
academy. As you can see I'm typing this out on computer since I'm still
having trouble writing my Kanji. This is easier to use, though I wonder
what they mean by 'User friendly OS' since I've had such a tough time
learning how to use it. The system seems to crash a lot...'

Usagi stopped proof reading her letter to draw a super deformed version of
herself frowning next to a computer. She also took care to add Rabbit
ears to the picture, though she didn't want anyone else to know for fear
of getting teased. Finishing her drawing with a flourish she started to
read on in the letter.

'Anyway things seem to be going fine here even though the courses seem to
be tough. Sometimes I wonder if I'm going to make it but I keep reminding
myself that this is the best place for me to make use of my gifts. And
maybe I can end up finding out something about my self. I'll be back home in
a month or two so don't worry!!! I'll always love you!!!

					Usagi-chan

PS: Don't forget to feed the Cat!'

Usagi finished reading the letter then added a couple of hearts next to
her name. Giving it her seal of approval she went down to place it into the
mail box. She was stopped however by one of her floor captains.

"Cadet Usagi, some one from the metropolitan command is here to see you in
the meeting room. Report there at once!"

"Yes Ma'am!" Usagi replied giving a quick salute. 'I wonder who
would want to talk to me from headquarters' Usagi thought as she walked
towards the meeting room. She wasn't exactly the exemplary cadet
headquarters like to make into a poster boy or push into the upper echelons
of the academy.

"Hello Tsukino-san!" The lady greeted as Usagi stood in the open door way of
the room. Usagi quickly gave the lady a once over and noted that she
seemed to carry an air of confidence with her. She also had black hair
with green tints, a colour Usagi never saw before except in anime.

"Ma'am!!"

"Relax Tsukino-san, I'm just here to talk," the lady said as she pointed
to a chair where Usagi could sit. Slowly sitting down, Usagi still seemed
to defer to the older lady. "No need for all this formality, especially
since I'm the one here that needs to ask for a favor. I'm the one that
should be on the verge of bowing to you." The older lady chuckled causing
Usagi to look on with a curious gaze.

"Anou, what do you need from me!"

"Tsukino-san, I'm forming a special unit and I want you to join it. No I
need you to join it." She said bowing as she placed a Manila envelope in
front of Usagi. Slowly Usagi started to open it when she let got a barely
muffled yelp. "I know what you are," the lady smiled as Usagi's face
looked full of panic.

"How...How...Why?"

"I need you for a new task force, a unit that could use your powers and
train you how to use them. After all I have had experience using and
training people with such powers."

"You've done this before?" Usagi asked, wondering just what this lady had
in mind for her.

"That doesn't matter, what does matter is that I need your help and I need
it now. Please join this unit!!" the Lady bowed again, hoping that the
girl would accept the offer. While Usagi wasn't a stellar cadet she was
good enough to be placed on the regular force (despite her brief episodes
of clumsiness, she always got the job done). And since she only had the
authority to transfer problem cases to her unit she knew that Usagi had to
come on her own to the unit. And to do that meant that she had to give up
any chance for a normal Police career.

Usagi wasn't thinking about things like that though, she was thinking
about learning how to use her own powers and meeting others that could
use power. And she was also interested in the paycheck that was given out,
one that was substantially bigger than the one given at the academy. "I'll
do it!!!"

"Thank you Tsukino-san, please report to the SV2 headquarters at 0700
tomorrow"

"You've got it, ah, ah..." Usagi stammered, never hearing the name of her
new captain.

"Setsuna-san, you may call me Setsuna-san!"

*****

It was a day off for the 2nd unit, and Noa was spending it like she did
most of her day's off. She was polishing her Ingram Alphonse.

Well polishing what needed to be polished anyway, since the Ingram hadn't
been used all week. And this was the 2nd day off this week so she had
already spent a fair amount of time polishing her Ingram. Ever since the
end of the 2nd Griffin incident the frequency of labor crimes dropped
immensely. Now only 1-2 incidents happened a week, and long weeks with
nothing to do seemed to be common place.

Noa started to slowly polish the head, a place she didn't spend much
time on during the last polish job. She slowly began to wonder if the
downturn in labor crimes might be due to the internal pressure coming from the
Japanese government. After all Japan was the orginal home for Labor crimes
and the Griffin incident helped drive that home proving to be an
embarrassment the government just couldn't spin control.

The Prime Minister almost lost his job because of that and Labor rules were
tightened up considerably. Where once 1 year sentences awaited joy riders
now they where faced with 10 year sentences. And corporate fines where now
in place, rather expensive one's at that. And rumors of underground
pressure being placed on companies to tighten up labor use where also
flying around.

All of these seemed to lead to a down turn in labor crimes, and due to
that down turn plans to form the 3rd unit were finally scraped a few
months ago Noa noted. Due to that Gomioka's promotion to Sergeant was put
on hold and the contract for the newest model police labor was also
broken (and at a considerable cost Asuma told her to in private).

Noa sighed as she finished her polish job, giving it a quick thumbs up.
Rumors of people being layed off from the SV2 seemed commonplace now.
And rumors that the 1st and 2nd unit would be merged and half of the staff
let go. In fact the rumor's where so serious that Shinshi and Ohta began
quietly looking into other job possibilities in the force. Asuma and
Kumagami-san didn't seem as worried by this, especially since Kumagami-san
was a lock for any job in the department. And Asuma had his father company,
a company where he offered a job to Noa in research and development.
After all Noa was a very skilled pilot, perhaps the best in the world, and
her skills would be invaluable to any company.

But Noa wasn't sure she wanted to work at a company. She wanted to be in
the police force, helping people with their problems. And if she couldn't
do that she could always look into the JSDF avenue again. After all she
would still be helping people in the JSDF and she would still be driving
labors in a real environment.

Noa slowly came down from her Ingram to see a lady with Black and green
tints in her hair standing in the hanger doorway. She was dressed in the
formal dress uniform of a Police captain which caused Noa to immediately
salute her. "Captain!!"

"At ease. I don't like Salutes and that stuff. Anyway, can you tell me
where I can find the captains office please?"

"Sure, if you'll follow me." Noa said, noting that she wanted to make
herself some tea before she meet Asuma at the movies.

"It's certainly a unique place you have here," the captain noted as they
climbed the stairs.

"Ahh, well we try to keep it that way!"

"Well It should be fun working here I guess," The lady remarked as the
approached the captains room door's, "Well I guess this where I have to
go."

"Eh? What do you mean by working here?" Noa asked, her curiosity getting
the better of her.

"Oh noting much. Any way I'll be seeing you later!" the lady said as she
opened the door up, "You can count on that!!" she added as she shut the
door behind her.

"Weird," Noa muttered as she turned into the tea room.

****

"I don't know about this!!"

"Please Goto-san, just allow me to ask her," Setsuna asked as she bowed in
front of the chief of the 2nd unit.

"Are you sure about this, I mean she is on the verge of a promotion
when ever a reorganization takes place here." Shinobu replied as looked
over the folder Setsuna supplied her with. "And you are basically a
show case unit for the police, no disrespect intended. Why do you need
someone of her caliber in your unit?"

"Because I don't intend for this to be a Show case Unit for the police. I
want this to be an effective Youma stopping force. And I need her help to
do it. At least for a month even!"

"I don't know, I don't want to give up one of my kid's to fight rubber
suited monsters," Goto said as he lit a cigarette

"They aren't rubber monsters, they're real!!" Setsuna replied in a
convincing voice.

"Do you have any proof?"

"The JSDF believes they exist."

"I don't trust the JSDF, they've lied to us before," Goto added, "And I
don't trust that little video tape that the TV stations are showing."

Setsuna sighed at that, producing another brown folder from her briefcase.
"I guess it won't hurt to let you look at this, since we're working
together. But you won't tell any one else about this."

"Would they believe me," Goto replied as he received the folder from
Setsuna. A small frown crossed over his face as he looked over the
documents before he tossed it over to Shinobu. "Well I certainly feel like
I'm in an episode of the X-files."

"But everything their is true!!" Setsuna exclaimed.

"But how do we know you didn't make this up?" Shinobu asked as she herself
flipped through the pages with a skeptical look.

"Trust me, you'll know it's all true. But then it'll be too late to do
anything." a rather terse replay came from Setsuna, the threatening tone of
it barely concealed.

"Now now, no need to fight. No matter what I believe doesn't really
matter, it's what Officer Izumi thinks. You'll have to talk to her."

"That's all I ask for," Setsuna said as she bowed, slowly getting up to
leave. "By the way do you mind if I use this office too?"

"I wouldn't dream of you using another place," Goto said in a dull voice,
"After all you've certainly got some interesting stories to tell."

****

The sun was slowly reaching the horizon and the temperature began to drop,
and Noa was running a bit late. Throwing on her helmet, she rushed to her
scooter only to run into the weird Green tint Captain.

"Izumi-san, do you think I could have a word with you?"
