Excellent! Excellent. It begs to be continued, you know that. ^_^
I found that your account of Hayashi's captivity in the hands of
the Phantom Tribe to be too objective, though. It doesn't quite suggest
the trauma that would result in such a drastic change in Hayashi, enough
that he would shrug off most of his former personality. You might want to
put a bit more there, convey whay exactly happened.
The Oracle's way of seeing once he's blind is so very reminiscent
of Paul Muad'Dib Atreides, after losing his sight in...ack, what's the
second book of the Dune series? Anyway, his method of using presience to
know what's going on is almost exactly the same. Have you read it? :)
Cool.
Anyway, the ending to me is all right, especially if you are going
to continue it.... Again, good stuff.
