Recently Viz finished dubbing the first season of Ranma 1/2. In the season
finale, three of Akane and Ryouga's kids fall in the pond and turn to pigs.
Given this is only the TV series and to top that off a dream sequence, it
still strongly suggest that the curse is passed on. This isn't the manga and
fanfic writers can get around any inconsistencies, but I can't help wondring
if a large portion of the FFML might start taking this as fact.

Maaaaaaaybe, but you gotta consider the cumulative effects over time. 
Jusenkyo's curse has been around a long, long time (one t'ousand five
hundred year ago!), and even if some of the cursed people die before
reproducing, most of them will survive and get on with their lives. 
Given the time frame, a good percentage of China would be cursed by this
point.  Since Takahashi-sama doesn't mention anyone who's cursed without
actually visiting the springs, I'd say that the curse is, at best, like
an incredibly recessive gene - it happens so rarely to the original
victim's descendants that you might as well not bother.

Of course, that makes for interesting crossover material... say, someone
a few hundred years down the line ends up genderswapping at random,
which might put a strain on certain relationships.  ("Um, Kei, why do
you keep that flask of cold water with you at all times?")
