I know L.Thomas wanted this to be private only,
but I feel the topic she's discussing should be
heeded by the newbies on this list, hence this
public reply.

I apologize to Master Tybalt if I am in error n.n;

Okay, guys, here's the idea. Most of us place our fics in .txt or
.rtf format. The question is, would anyone else care to see other
formats? Most people have Word Perfect or MS Word, and would like
to see it in that. And what of other formats?

Not really.

Think on this: while lots of people have stuff that'll
instantly read the above mentioned formats, others
don't.

At least, not immediately.

The advantage of .txt format is that it's immediate. There
it is, ready to read.

Most importantly, it's >>>>universal<<<<.

Personally, if a fic sent through the ffml is in some odd format
or encoding, I'm not going to bother. And I can guarantee you
I'm not the only one.

Don't forget, the most important thing in a story isn't
the formatting, or the neat new technology that it's
packaged in, but the content.

Shakespeare's plays aren't classics because he used
incredible new printing technology or the latest
in durable paper.

Just my opinion, but please do stick with .txt format.

Besides, the ffml FAQ says so.
