As Shinji's consciousness floated in the LCL, he felt himself merge with the
Eva.  The experience was  difficult to describe; images and scenes flashed
through his being, it was unlike an synch test he had ever experienced.  As
the images passed, the questions started.  Was it the Eva?  Or something
more?

(What is Life?)

"What?"  Shinji asked, disoriented by his new environment.

(What is Life?)

"Life is what I fight to protect," Shinji replied.

(What is Death?)

"Death is what I hope to delay."

(What is Happiness?)

"I didn't think I understood, but now I know what it is."  (Auth note:  To
everyone who has seen episode 20, did the elevator scene between Rei and
Shinji make any sense to you???)

(What is loneliness?)

"That is what I try to embrace."

(What is Love?)

"Love is what I pray and hope for," Shinji replied wistfully.

(One more question...)

"Yes?"

Seriously folks, for the longest time, I had no idea what the term 'Fan
Service' meant.  Misato would always mention it in a rather playful or sexy
voice at the end of each episode and I finally got the hint.  Funny how we
sometimes enjoy things but never know what they're called.  ^_-
