The subtitled Urusei Yatsura TV show is coming to American TV, starting
Sunday, March 8th at 9 pm on San Jose California's channel 54. (Replacing
some series about royal treehuggers, space pirates and rabbits that flip
inside out into spaceships on KTEH)
This means of course that UY will show right before a very similar series
each Sunday night....

Ataru Moroboshi drives his cyclone transformable motorcycle into an
unmarked forest clearing.
Mendou Shutaro doesn't look up from scanning the horizon with his
binoculars as Ataru walks up. They are running short on all sorts of
supplies, but apparently Shutaro has plenty of hair goo. "Did you spot
anything?"
"Naw, there's nothing around here. One question about this Reflex Point."
"Yes?"
"Are there going to be any girls there? Shinobu and Ryuunosuke are no
fun."
"What did you say?" Shinobu stands up from where she was working on her
cyclone and pounds Ataru into a tree.
"Just forget that jerk." Ryuunosuke is in her stage costume as an Elvis
impersonator. "Can you give me a lift into town Shinobu? I'm gonna miss
my gig."
As Shinobu and Ryuunosuke drive off, Ataru gets back to his feet. "One
more thing Shutaro."
"Yes?" Shutaro tries to look cool while surrounded by losers.
"Why is he with us?" Ataru points to the littlest member of the rebel
band.
"Hey, I'm a rebel too!" Jariten, dressed in a drab jumpsuit and a
baseball cap crosses his arms while floating in midair.
Meanwhile, at Reflex Point, the Invid er Oni queen, Lum paces nervously.
"Darling should have been here by now! Rei, could you go get him please?"
"Yup, git im." Rei puts on his space helmet as he climbs into his Oni
fightercraft.
Next Time: Shutaro's brave band of freedom fighters face congressional
scrutiny.
