Ouch... that chat session was the most frightening thing I've read
in some time.

I read IMBS at seven this morning, right after getting up. One
phrase stayed with me all day: "It rippled and rushed up at
her.." That's the kind of phrase that should make an author happy
for weeks.

Cool. :)

A mild peeve of mine is death scenes where the victim nobly drifts off
into the afterlife thinking noble thoughts. It's not like that at all.

My questions about Ranma's true motivations remain unanswered even
now... but they are probably moot as this death is _very_ unlikely to be
the last.

My strongest reaction to Nabiki's death is that Ranma now cannot
ever, ever be redeemed.

See Chapter 10 for the aftermath. *plug, plug*

See below comments on the redemption theme.

One other thing, I get the feeling that Akane's reaction to
that last sparring session will be pivotal.

I continue to believe that, if the "good guys" win at all, they will
do so through Akane's actions. If she doesn't turn against him, I
don't think Ranma will ever be stopped.

We throw in a lot of subplots and complications. In the end, however, this
is a story that hinges around Ranma and Akane. She's going to be the thing
that either saves him, or damns him beyond any hope of return.

One of the things I've enjoyed about the fic is the wide disagreement as
to who the "good guys" and "bad guys" really are. I've seen Shamps, the
Hibikis, Ranma, and Nabiki labeled as both in emails and conversation...
everyone seems to feel Akane and Ukyou are on the side of the angels,
though.

It hurt to do. I suppose that's one way to tell that you're on to
something.
