Ryoga: Possibilities
by Cat

Chapter 3

"Class, I'd like you to welcome a new student today. This is
Ryoko Hibiki," Ryoga tried not to wince at the introduction, and as
soon as the teacher finished she almost ran back to her seat. Trying
desperately to make herself invisible, she wondered what gods she had
offended to deserved this.
She had had absolutely no intention of ever reaching school
when Akane had so unceremoniously dragged her off this morning,
but, like everything else in her life lately, things hadn't quite worked
out liked she had planned.
It seemed that they had left a little later than was actually a
good idea and Akane had been in quite a hurry to make it to school on
time. Not only that, but thanks to Ranma's big mouth Akane knew all
about the slight directional problem Ryoga suffered from, thus she
didn't let her new friend out of her sight for even then instant Ryoga
had needed to get away. So, entirely against her will, she had made it
for her first day at her new school almost completely without incident,
and, coincidentally, on time.
She tried once again to make herself inconspicuous, but it
seemed to no avail. This was much worse than any situation she'd
been forced into before. Sure she met a lot of people on her travels.
Recently quite a few of them in her cursed form, however she rarely
saw many of them twice, and she was completely unprepared for the
sheer number of people present, or the intense scrutiny she was being
subjected to.
She would have been even less happy to know that among a
majority of those present, there were only two main evaluations which
she was receiving. These could be broken down into the male
evaluation which consisted mainly of shock, joy, and desire, followed
closely by copious amounts of drooling, and the female evaluation.
The was much less centered around Ryoga herself and more aimed at
the male members of the classroom who were obviously about to make
completely fools of themselves over some new girl, who was, after all,
not all *that* pretty.
Class progressed and the students were forced to return their
attention to class. Ryoga, not having been in school in quite a while,
and consequently very behind in just about all of her school work was
almost completely lost from the very begging, and can therefore be
forgiven for allowing her attention to waiver.
"Ryoko!" Ryoga's head shot up from off the desk. She
realized with a start that she had fallen asleep, already. A blush began
to creep across her face, notably, increasing her cuteness factor by
several points.
"Young lady, I don't know what the schools are like where
you are from but here at Furikan we do not sleep in class!" the teacher
seemed rather annoyed. Ryoga swallowed, hard, "You will stand in
the hall," the teacher finished. Resignedly, Ryoga stood up and,
taking a bucket from the still annoyed teacher, proceeded out of the
room. On her way she had just enough time to see a very smug
looking Ranma get clobbered by a sympathetic Akane, who just had
time to give her a reassuring smile before she left the classroom.

Lunch was even less enjoyable than class, no mean feat. As
soon as she and Akane got their lunches they were almost instantly
surrounded by a majority of the male population of the school, saved
from completely smothering only by Akane, who, for some reason,
seemed to make them nervous.
	"Ryoko, doing anything Saturday?"
"Ryoko, can I get you something to eat?"
"Ryoko, can I walk you home?"
The petitions bombarded her from all sides. Ryoga, with her
extremely limited experience with people in general, and especially
people trying to be nice to her, was at an almost complete loss.
"Um, well, I.I don't.maybe." thankfully Akane came to
her rescue.
"Leave us alone!!!" she yelled. There was a brief pause, and
then almost as if on cue, the area surrounding the two girls cleared
with amazing speed.
"I can't believe them!" Akane said to no one in particular,
even though Ryoga was the only one present. "I HATE BOYS!!!" she
was still yelling, this time much louder. Ryoga, still rather confused,
didn't have much to say to this.
"What'ya yelling about now Akane?" Ryoga jumped as
Ranma dropped out of the tree directly above their heads.
"None of your business Ranma." Akane was not feeling very
generous. (Not that she ever was when it came to Ranma, but still, it
needed to be said.)
"Whatever," he said, somehow able to convey both annoyance
and disdain at the same time. Dropping out of the tree and turning to
Ryoga he continued.
"So Ryochan how do ya like Furikan so far?" his tone was
deceptively pleasant. Ryoga, however, hadn't missed anything.
"What do you mean `Ryochan?'", Ryoga didn't know what he
was up to but she knew if it was Ranma it couldn't be anything good.
"Oh, you know, us being so close and all, and seeing as how
you forgave me for dumping you." Ryoga began to steam, this was
taking it way too far. Ranma ignored her and continued ".I didn't
think you'd mind me calling you that again. You can still call me
Ranchan you know," he added generously breaking out in a grin, he
was obviously loving this..
"Ranma!!! Don't you call me that ever again!" Ryoga was
yelling now. She should have expected something like this from
Ranma.
"What'sa matter, is widdle Ryochan angwy," he answered
back in his most patronizing voice. Things would have probably
become rather animated at that moment, however, Ranma's glorious
plan had failed to take into account one small detail. That detail was
annoyed, had long black hair, and was currently standing right behind
him.
"DIE RANMA!!!" Akane yelled as she punted him into the
stratosphere. Ryoga watched as a very surprised Ranma flew into the
air. She was impressed, that was some pretty good loft.
"Come on Ryoko, let's go eat," Akane walked off without
even looking back. Ryoga stared into the sky for a few more seconds
until Ranma completely disappeared from sight. Then seeing Akane
walking off quickly caught up with her. Soon the new girl was
surrounded by Akane's friends.
Once again the eternal lost girl was completely.well, lost.
This was even worse than the guys. She knew, in general how to
handle guys. If one of them did something she didn't like, she beat
him till he stopped. Girls however, were unexplored territory, and
even the smallest amount of interaction could overwhelm her.
This shyness served her better than just about anything else
could have. The girls at Furikan could not be said to be unfriendly,
however Ryoga's almost instant popularity with the opposite sex,
combined with the fact that she was, as one girl had put it, `cute to an
unnecessary degree,' had not made the others favorable disposed
toward her. However, her obvious nervousness, combined with
Akane's defusing of the previous situation, was enough to settle most
of the girls fears, at least enough to give her chance.
Thus they welcomed her with semi-unfeigned sincerity. This
didn't help Ryoga much, but it's always nice to know. A few minutes
of silence followed while the girls ate, soon the topic of conversation
naturally turned to the new girl. After some careful questioning the
inquisitive girls had determined the following facts. Ryoko was
staying with Akane. She was an ex-girlfriend of Ranma Saotome
(Akane graciously helped out in filling in the details), she didn't know
how long she would be staying, and no, she didn't have any different
clothes. (Furikan girls tended to be somewhat direct.)
"You'll have to get a school uniform. It's required by the
school," Usake said helpfully. Akane, who had been studying Ryoga
quite closely for the past few minutes took this opportunity to lean over
and whisper.
"Ryoko, why aren't you wearing a bra?", she was not quite
able to prevent about half of the others girls from hearing this
exchange and soon a bright red Ryoga was flooded with questions she
was in no position to answer. After some stuttering and a lot of
blushing she was able to convince them that in her travels she had
never before had the need.
"Well your with us now and if you don't want every boy in
school drooling all over you your going to need one," Akane said
firmly. "After school, I'll take you shopping, it'll be fun," she added
with a smile that served to completely derail anything Ryoga could
have possible said in protest. With that settled the rest of the lunch
period turned to other things, with a very disconcerted Ryoga trying
once again to render herself completely invisible.

The second half of the day passed without incident, rather
amazing for Furikan, if a bit of a letdown. Soon, the final bell rang
and Ryoga shot out of class with speed born of desperation. She
wasn't getting caught by Akane, not now. There was no way she was
going on that shopping trip this afternoon. Within moments the
school building was almost completely out of sight. Breathing a sigh
of relief she slowed to a walk and began to look for the nearest
convenient source of hot water.
"Hey! Ryochan, is little miss cute a little lost?" Ryoga spun
around instantly to see Ranma not ten feet away.
"What do you want Ranma!" she asked in a very annoyed
tone. She didn't have time for this.
"I want you to tell the truth," Ranma replied flatly.
"Look, I don't have time for this. I'll take care of it as soon
as I get back. Right now I'm off on a training mission," she replied
her impatience becoming obvious in her voice.
"Oh no you don't! There's no way I'm letting you go off on
one of your `training missions,' and leaving everyone thinking you
and I were goin' out," as he spoke his cool demeanor began to be
replaced by increasing frustration. "Until you clear that up, or admit
your curse, your not leavin."
"And whose gonna stop me!?" Ryoga countered, there was no
way she was letting Ranma order her about like this.
"I am!" Ranma returned with equal vigor. Ryoga had had
enough, it was time she taught this freak a lesson.
"DIE SAOTOME!!!" she yelled as attacked throwing a series
of kicks and punches that would have leveled a lesser opponent.
Ranma was not a lesser opponent though, and he simply dodged them
with what appeared to be almost no effort.
Ryoga continued her attack without pause, throwing kick
after kick, punch after punch. Ranma dodged each one in turn never
letting the enraged girl hit him. Soon both combatants were breathing
equally heavily. Ryoga had been expending quite a bit of effort,
however her stamina was almost beyond belief. Ranma, for his part,
had been forced to do more work than he had to for even Pop. She
was fast, not as fast as him, but not bad. Add to the fact that each of
those punches was incredibly powerful and you come up with someone
who was probably as close to an equal as Ranma had ever encountered.
"Fight back!!!" Ryoga couldn't figure it out. She had never
met an opponent who could have dodged all of those punches. Much
less one who refused to even counter attack, why wouldn't he fight
back.
"I don't fight girls!" Ranma responded levelly. This was very
true, and although Ranma didn't actually consider Ryoga a real girl,
he still didn't think he could hit her. Not only that, but he figured
saying something like that would probably annoy his enemy to no end.
Ranma was right. Ryoga had previously been mad. Mad for
Ryoga is no surprise, she got mad many times a day, mad at rain, mad
at life, mad at vending machines, mad is something normal. Now,
however, she became more than mad, more than angry. She went far
passed angry and soon out on the other side. Perhaps a good phrase,
though not completely able to describe the sheer passion she was
feeling at that moment, would be `completely, totally, and utterly
enraged beyond all human comprehension.'
Knowing this one shouldn't be surprised that she completely
lost all self control and began a rather more destructive attack than one
would previously have believed possible. Ranma, quite wisely,
decided that this particular pony-tailed girl was not someone he felt
like spending overmuch time with began a strategic withdrawal. In
other words, he ran like heck.
Ryoga's anger level was far too high for even her too keep up
for long, thus it was that a mere thirty minutes and several million yen
in damage later, that the two combatants once again faced each other.
In the interim several things had taken place. One Ranma had
managed to get a small nick on his arm from one of Ryoga's many
headbands. Second he had been lucky enough to have an encounter
with a rather large amount of di-hydrogen oxide ( that's water) and
was now rather angry herself.
The two, now extremely attractive, martial artists were so
caught up in their fight that they failed to notice their surroundings. If
they had they might have noticed a rather large crowd of their fellow
students who had come out to view this amazing spectacle. Nabiki,
never one to pass up an opportunity, had also decided to charge
admission. This was quite an amazing feat seeing as how the two
were currently in a vacant lot which Nabiki had absolutely no right to
be charging anyone anything to enter. This fact was overshadowed,
however, by the even more amazing fact that she had been able to
discover that they were going to be fighting there in the first place,
seeing as how the two hadn't even known themselves until a few
minutes before.
The party was not to last. The two had only just began to
fight when they were suddenly stopped by a yell from the crowd.
"Ranma!!! Ryoko!!! What are you two doing!" Akane was
not in a good mood. She had lost both her fiancee and her friend even
before she had left the school, not only that, but her own sister had
charged her 500 yen to find out where they were, and now it turned
out that they were fighting, again!
"Uhh, hi Akane!" Ryoga began to sweat, she really tended to
loose it whenever Akane was around.
"Don't look at me, it was Ryoko's fault, she attacked me!"
Ranma yelled sounding rather more defensive than she had initially
planned. She had wanted to sound cool and collected. This was rather
ambitious in that Ranma, though often cool, was never collected,
especially not when it came to Akane.
	Akane wasn't listening, "Come'on Ryoko, we're going
shopping! This PERVERT, Can go find other girls to chase." Akane
said, somehow managing to sound cool and collected (much to
Ranma's annoyance) even whiling yelling `PERVERT'.
She dragged the slightly damp, and very flustered Ryoga off
the field by the arm. It should be noted that she got almost no
resistance at this point, the girl being much too afraid of her
disapproval at this point. As the two left the lot, Ranma could be
heard yelling something about `stupid tomboy,' but Akane didn't seem
to be in any mood to listen. A few minutes later Akane began to calm
down, and, finally noticing her rather tight grip on the smaller girls
arm, released Ryoga with an apology.
"Sorry Ryoko, I guess I got a little carried away. I know it
wasn't your fault," Ryoga began to feel better as Akane spoke. She
was off the hook. Akane continued, "Sometimes that Pervert just
makes me so mad," she gritted her teeth and clenched her fists as she
spoke. Ryoga was careful to keep a discrete distance between her and
the still annoyed girl.
"What happened anyway?" Akane asked, once again reigning
in her temper.
"Umm.well.I guess I got a little mad when he said he
didn't hit girls." Ryoga admitted in a small voice, a little embarrassed.
"That jerk! What a...a.BOY!!! I can't believe he can be so
stupid!," Akane's response was instant as she began fuming once
again. The two girls were silent as they continued to walk. Ryoga
being careful not to say anything lest she once again arouse Akane's
fury. She was very thankful that it was aimed at Ranma and not her.
After a few more minutes Akane once again began to cool down, and
by the time they reached the shopping district she seemed back to her
normal self. Soon they were joined by several of Akane's friends from
school, and, much to Ryoga's discomfort, the shopping trip began.
The next few hours were extremely difficult for her. As they
entered one store after another the girls would not only force her to try
on clothes she hadn't even previously suspected existed, but would
also model outfits of their own. One by one they hit each of the stores,
at almost every one they would force a consistently blushing Ryoga to
try on outfit after outfit. Finally the reached the last stop in their trip,
Lingerie.
"I can't believe she just collapsed in there," said Asoki as
they supported an unconscious Ryoga on a bench outside the shop.
"She's really shy," Akane said defending her friend, "I don't
think she's seen her parents in years, and she only wears boys clothes.
She'll get over it, she just needs a little help." The other girls nodded
in agreement all determined to help out the tiny shy girl they were
starting to count as a friend. Soon Ryoga woke up.
"What happened?" she asked as she awoke.
"You fainted," Usaki supplied helpfully, "We brought you out
here for some fresh air." The other girls helped Ryoga sit up as she
began to take some deep breaths and stop the spinning.
"I think we've got just about everything you need for today,"
Akane added. "If you want we could head home now," Ryoga silently
nodded her agreement not yet trusting herself to say much more.
After some quick good-byes the other girls headed back home
with their purchases. Akane and Ryoga also began the return trip,
both laden with box of box of Ryoga's new wardrobe. Akane had
graciously forgone buying anything knowing the problems they would
have transporting even what Ryoga needed.
Upon arriving back at the Tendou's the two girls headed
immediately to Akane's room. Well, Akane did, Ryoga got lost on the
way and somehow ended up in the bathroom but Akane found her
pretty quickly. Once again making the supreme sacrifice for her
friend Akane cleared out closet space to store her new clothes. A few
minutes later they were all hung up neatly.
"Well, that's good, do you think it's time to eat now?" Ryoga
tried to sound nonchalant but only ended up sounding nervous.
"Don't be silly, don't you want to try on some of your new
outfits?" Akane asked pleasantly. Ryoga wanted to say `NO WAY!
Those are girl's clothes, I'm never wearing anything like that ever!'
However in the grand tradition of the Hibiki family when faced with a
female smile, she `wussed out' and simply nodded her assent. Soon
she was dressed in not only panties and a bra, but a rather cute looking
outfit, with a yellow blouse and a tan skirt.
Why on earth did almost everything have to be yellow and
tan? Akane wondered silently to herself as she helped Ryoga finish
buttoning up the blouse. She had to admit it did suit her, but still,
there were other colors. She sighed, oh well, you can't win them all.
She had also wanted to get the girl to take off her headband, it was
true it didn't look bad, but Akane was convinced that if she wore her
hair loose she would look about a thousand times more feminine. She
had told Ryoko as much, but even that hadn't been enough to get her
to part with her pony tail. (If the truth be known, upon hearing that
statement Ryoga had sworn never to remove her headband for any
reason, ever.)
Finally Akane added the final touches, and Ryoga was ready
for presentation. She grabbed her by the shoulders and gently turned
her around so she could look in the mirror. The effect was stunning.
Before her, Ryoga once again saw the tiny attractive girl she had so
often seen before. This time there was a difference though. This girl
was dressed in a very attractive shirt and skirt, as a matter of fact, she
looked just like a normal girl. This was definitely not something
Ryoga wanted, she was guy!
This person in the mirror, however, looked to be most
definitely, one-hundred percent, female. Ryoga began to panic, what
was she supposed to do, there was no way she was ever going to let
anyone see her like this. No way!!!
"Come on, Ryoko, let's go eat I think I hear Kasumi calling,"
Akane said, both ready and willing to show off Ryoga's `new look'.
Ryoga tried desperately to get out of it.
"OK, I'll go change," she said quickly. Akane had been
expecting this, she knew her friend was extremely shy, but she also
was learning how to manipulate her rather easily. All for her own
good, of course.
"Don't you like the clothes we got?" she asked, putting just a
hint of worry in her voice. Ryoga immediately became terrified she
had hurt Akane's feelings.
"Of course-," Akane cut her off in mid-sentence.
"Great then! Let's go," grabbing Ryoga by the arm and not
giving her even the slightest chance at protest she dragged her out the
door soon the arrived in the dining room. Upon entering everyone
simply stared at the now transformed girl before them. All except
Ranma, he simply began to choke on his rice.
"Oh my," Kasumi said, in the back of her mind Ryoga
wondered if Kasumi had been dropped as a child. "Dear, you look
lovely," she said giving the girl a disgustingly happy smile.
"Yes, lovely," Nabiki said, also with a smile, though it did
not seem quite as innocent as Kasumi's.
Soun began to cry, or, to use a better phrase, blubber like a
baby, "Oh, you are so beautiful! Such loveliness gracing my house! I
am so blest."
Genma, currently in panda form, held up a sign, <<Very
pretty>> seeing Ranma still choking on his food he slammed the sign
into his sons back. As soon as Ranma began to once again get control
of himself the panda turned over his sign, << Well say something boy!
For a few Ranma seemed to be at a loss for words, then breaking
out in a wide grin, and idea came to him.
"Ohhh Ryoko!, you are sooooo cute!" Ranma could barely
keep control of himself as he spoke, and soon broke out in almost
uncontrollable laughing.
"Ranma you take that back!" Ryoga may not be able to do
much about the others, but Ranma was another story.
"Ranma!" Akane said through clenched teeth. "Stop
laughing, she really is cute, admit it!" After a few seconds Ranma
began to calm down, mainly out of self preservation, but probably
more from a desire to say something rather insulting to the yellow
skirted girl.
Ryoga however was not completely without recourse, she
didn't think the Tendou's would like it to much if she started a fight
right in the middle of dinner, but Ranma had other weaknesses.
Grabbing a glass of water off the table she tossed it's contents all over
the still slowly recovering Ranma. For some reason, probably
something to do with the fact that the shift served to remind Ranma of
the current situation, but more likely due to the fact that he, now a she,
finally took another look at her enraged classmate, Ranma once again
immediately broke out into hysterical laughter.
The rest of dinner did not go much better. It mainly
consisted of Ranma making some sort of comment along the lines of
how cute Ryoga looked today, followed by Ryoga yelling some sort of
threat at Ranma, who would then break down into laughter once
again. Finally Akane got fed up and, after flattening Ranma, punted
him once more into the stratosphere. (Ranma was a little to far gone
to do much about it.)
Soon they finished up dinner. Ryoga, saying she needed
some sleep, decided to head off to bed. Or at least tried to, she was
forced to get directions several times from various Tendous (such as
`That door!' and `No not that door, that one. I said that one!') until
finally Akane took pity on her and led her to their room.
Ryoga got undressed in record time. Soon she was once
again wearing her standard yellow shirt/tan pants combinations
(without a bra or panties). After some indecision she also packed on
of the blouse skirt combinations she had picked up with Akane along
with several female undergarments. She would be returning pretty
soon and she knew she would probably have to answer some rather
uncomfortable questions were she to once again return with her
standard gear. Akane's approval was fast becoming very important to
the pony-tailed girl. After some thought she pulled out some paper
and began to write.

Dear Akane,
I am very thankful to you and the Tendou's for your gracious
hospitality. I am going off on a training mission and will return soon.
I think what I need most right now is some time to think. I will return
as soon as possible.
			Your friend,
			Ryoko

Satisfied with her writing she placed the letter on Akane's
bed, picked up her pack and, after a brief search, exited through the
window. She had some thinking to do.

There it is. I hope you like it. As an aid to those of you who would like
to send me C&C but really can't think of all that much to say I will attach
several examples of completely acceptable C&C immediately folling this
paragraph.
