"My name is Ranma Saotome and I am the best male student in the
Anything goes school of Martial Arts. I was taken on training trip by
my father at the age of five and we didn't stop until after I was
fifteen. Most of the early part of my story is not very interesting,
as it consisted of our visiting various friends and relatives, such as
my cousins Usagi, Tenchi and Ataru, while training in the martial
arts. When I was six, my pop decided to teach me the art of the
Neko-Ken or cat-fist. He did this by covering me with fish sausage and
shoving me in pit with some starving cats, over and over again until I
learned to move and fight the way they did. I can do it, but it left
me with a fear of cats that will last my whole life. When I was seven
Pop decided to try a special training ground in China that he had
heard of. It was called Jusenkyo, that place changed my life even more
than the Neko-Ken did. It was there that I first encountered my
sister, Ranko. I had been knocked into the Pool of the Drowned Girl
and was chasing pop around and between the other pools trying to hit
him, when he knocked me back into another pool, this time the Pool of
the Drowned Twins. Imagine my surprise when I climbed out and so did
my twin sister Ranko. All of a sudden everybody ( well pop and the
guide, they being the only  other people around) remembered me having
a sister, well I remembered it too but I also remembered being an only
child. Ranko later told me that she was actually from a parallel
world, where she was my twin but that she had been erased by an evil
magician. I (the me of that world) had saved her from being destroyed
by sending her soul to this world where a soulless body awaited her.
She had been about ten years older in the other world, where we didn't
go to Jusenkyo until we were about fifteen ( she was erased a couple
of years later). She had lost a lot of the memories of that life
though, just retaining enough to give her an edge in occasionally,
although sometime the memories betrayed her because of the differences
in the worlds.
After we left Jusenkyo we went to the village of the amazons where
Ranko and I were permitted to train under the martial arts masters. We
soon became better than their best and invented several new moves,
some of which we taught them. One of our best friends there was named
Shampoo, she was the one who told the elders about my being a boy
originally, which made them very angry, so they threw us out. Which I
thought was rather silly as we hadn't finished teaching them the new
moves. We learned a lot there including new ways to think, One guy
named Mousse taught us how to find things, he called it Hidden
Weapons; though we didn't use it for weapons; it was handy for food
and money and other small items( we could literally pick them out of
our sleeves at will). From there we went back to Japan and Ranko and I
went to various special advanced schools. While attending one of the
many schools, we met  Uc-chan and Ryoga, two of our  closest friends.
Ukyo and I were very close friends for a couple of years, while Ranko
and Ryoga were very close friends. After a while pop moved us on to a
different place and we lost track of each other to our sorrow. Life
just continued like this until we were about fifteen when pop took us
to meet the Tendo's. Ranko was not very enthused to be going here and
after we arrived I soon found out why."
