Argh, deleted by accident....
Anyway, I'd like to first point out that this is not as far out as
some imagine it to be. The author may be using the TV continuity ending,
rather than the movies, where the HCP was all in the mind, and there's not
death and carnage involved. And it may even be that the HCP did alter
Rei's mind a bit....
However, I don't see Rei suddenly acting like a completely normal
teenage girl. I also don't see her pining after Shinji like that--
remember, she is more of a mother figure than a romantic one for Shinji. I
do have to agree, this change seems far too extreme. And I must also agree
that it seems the author hasn't seen very much, if any, of Evangelion.
