Hmm... There was a crossover done some time ago... I can't quite remember
what it was called, though ^_^;;

   That would be me.  The crossover was called Point Of No Return.  It was
initially posted in July 1996...  It was the first piece of fanfiction I
ever wrote after much badgering from Jorge Pratt.  I kept bugging him about
the Caller's Plight (I was a pre-reader), so he told me to write my own
fic.  Which I did, and I'm quite happy for the kick in the butt he gave me.

   I didn't consider it an otakufic at the time because: (1) I wasn't in
it, (2) There were four characters instead of just one and (3) my
characters had no idea whatsoever that they were in an anime series (hell,
they don't even know what anime is)...  The characters won't escape from
the RoLW unicerse unscathed either.

   Ultimately, this would lead to a tie-in with BGC...  The fun part about
them not knowing they're in an anime series is that once they get there, if
they caught in a firefight between the Knight Sabers and Boomers, they
won't give a damn who they shoot in retaliation... <evil grin>

   The story is currently undergoing a massive rewrite.  The first,
slightly rewritten chapter is on my web page.  The latter chapters (the
most rewritten ones) are under work.  Right noe, I'm struggling to get the
first part of Difering Powers out, and then it's Lines Of Destiny 10.

We should all be writing Ranma, Sailor Moon, Tenchi
Muyo!, and Neon Genesis Evangelion, since those are the most popular anime
out right now.

   Recently, I've started getting more and more mail about continuing Point
Of No Return.  There *is* an audience for RoLW fics out there, trust me!
It may be a lot smaller than the Ranma audience, but it's there.

   I talked to Hunter Kid and told him my opinion about his fic.  I hope he
continues Kiss Of Steel, especially since I know the basic plot behind
it...  ;)

Your comment hit me particularly hard, if only because I've had a history
of writing about works which fewer people have heard about... A lot of
CLAMP stuff, as well as serieses like Zetsuai, Escaflowne, Marmalade Boy,
Patlabor, Bakuretsu Hunters, Streetfighter II V, Rurouken, YYH, LoGH,
etc... While they're starting to get known, there are very few fanfics
about them. What always makes me feel good is when people tell me that they
read my fanfic and they want to know more about the series... if that means
not writing Ranma or Sailor Moon (which I've done, tho it was a bit ago),
then I guess I'm not successful... *shrug*

   For what it's worth, Monica, I really liked your YYH fics.  I didn't
know much about the series and your stories helped me understand YYH a
little better.  For that, I'm grateful.
