Okay...  There are three friends in the quiet little town of Nerima.  
The first of the three is Ranma Saotome, a Martial Arts nut, with 
shrines to all the greats, from Fong Sai Yuk to Bruce Lee to Jackie Chan 
to Chow Yun Fat.  He lives with his nymphomaniac parents, Genma and 
Nodoka.

There is Ukyo Kuonji, childhood friend of Ranma.  She acts kind of like 
his voice of reason, laying it straight.  She lives with her sister, 
Megumi, and Megumi's gaijin boyfriend, Robert.

Lastly, there is Ryoga Hibiki.  He and Ukyo participate in little verbal 
spars, and he projects a worldly image to hide his own insecurities.  He 
lives with his (so far) unnamed parents, and has a brother, Reiraku (If 
you know the name, sue me... I _LIKE_ it!!!), who acts as the little 
town's sheriff.

However, there's a new girl in town, moving in with her old fashioned 
Father, to get away from the stress of city life... Her name is Akane 
Tendo, and something about her makes Ranma want to know more about her, 
but he doesn't really know how to approach her.  Ukyo is a little pissed 
at Akane, due to a budding interest in Ranma that Ranma is mostly 
oblivious to.  Ryoga, at first, is mildly interested, but that all goes 
out the window when he starts having an affair with the new English 
teacher, Nabiki.  Then Ukyo finds out that Nodoka is having an affair 
with her coworker...

Well, gee....  Now all in need is to watch more Dawson's Creek, and 
plagurize even more!
