Hunter Kid: Good. Great job. I'd like to see
more; and see where this is going.

Thanks. :)

Tarot: Well.... [shrugs]

HK commented that it is a series that doesn't
lend itself to fanfiction. Oh contraire.
Admittedly, it isn't easy (which makes it that
much more of an impressive attempt by HK), but
it's a perfect concept of fanwork.

That's all I meant, really - that Lodoss isn't easy to write fanfics about.
It's hard to say for sure why, though; maybe it's because that it was so
short, the characters weren't too developed and it's hard to say how they'd
react in various new circumstances. Or maybe it's because of the story
type; could it be harder to delve into an already written midieval
fantasy-type world as opposed to something more modern (e.g. Ranma)?

In case some of you didn't know, Lodoss is based
on a series of novels that is based on an RPG
that came out in Japan...doesn't it sound just
like the D&D phenom? The only difference is,
they made a crappy kid's cartoon show for D&D
vice an intelligence anime.

And thank <insert your favorite diety here> for that! :)

Well, Lodoss would have never come out if some
Japanese role players hadn't played D&D and
liked it enough to create something of their own.

That's right: Lodoss in itself is a far and away
fanwork of D&D, after a fashion. So, its very
existence lends to the fan credo.

HK, keep at it. You just may be the one to
start a Lodoss craze (and get someone to someday
say: "Man, there are too many Lodoss fics
around!" ^_~

Wouldn't that be interesting. :)

"They're my friends, Akane," he insisted stubbornly, "and I know that-"
Akane cut him off. "You know that they're in China?" She gave him a
withering look. "Look, mister 'I-laughed-while-Ryoga-slept-with-you,' you
can't just go running off to another country based on some stupid dream!"
"Don't bring Ryoga into this," Ranma grumbled sourly.
