Now for the question.  What exactly is Ranko?

In the process of writing a fanfic i ran into a bit of a problem when i
tried to write a description of Ranko.  To be more specific as to what my
problem was... what nationality is "she"?  

While i've seen a few of the beginning tv episodes i don't think i've run
into an explanation of this and i've gotten a bit mixed up as to exactly
what the curse did to Ranma due to me reading to many fanfic's.

Is Ranko just the body that Ranma would have had if he'd been born female
or is it the body of the girl that died in the spring so long ago?  Is
there an official explanation of this?  And if there isn't really one
then is there anyone on the FFML that's Chinese (hope i didn't mangle
that word) or Japanese that can tell me which nationality she most
resembles?  Even if it does turn out that it's just the body he'd have
had he been born female i'd like an answer to what nationality Ranko
looks like.

Oh yeah.  And i need also if anyone know's offhand Ranko's measurements
from her last appearance.  (Height, Weight, ect...)
