He was standing on a tombstone and David had just released him from the
hold his laser whip had on him. They both looked to their right when
they heard a near inhuman scream and in a near blinding blue haze, came
the one with the scythe. He and David were at dead even strength because
of a fight with some punks on a street had gotten him hurt. And with
this newer fighter, his odds had become worse.
As if she had been possessed by some demon, she had beaten him
severely. It seemed as if nothing would be able to stop this madwoman.
David had tried to stop her, but she repulsed him as if he were nothing.
He lay on the ground bleeding, trying to get up. He looked up to see
only pure hatred and contempt in the eyes of the woman with the scythe.
"So, you're the one who beat him pitiful." She raised her scythe,
ready to behead him and he was devoid of strength to move. Just her
blade met his neck, another blocked it, saving him.
"Tina! Stop this at once! You've beaten him!" He looked to see his
savior was another Teknos woman with a long katana. He didn't even try
to turn back when he heard the acidic growl of the woman named Tina.
"Get lost Nodoka. This bastard's mine! He hurt Slade!"
"He hurt now, just leave him be, he can't hurt anyone now."
"I don't care, HE DIES NOW!" Tina screamed.
"Tina, I'm warning you. Stop this at once, go back to Gaia."
He shivered at hearing the inhuman growl that emerged from Tina. "The
only people that give me orders and live are those who can beat me."
"So, if I beat you, then you actually listen?"
"Yes, and if I win, you're dead." Tina hissed.
"Very well then." Nodoka said back in an unearthly perfect calm.
Nodoka had emerged the victor barely and once the Black September
incident had passed, Nodoka had come to his hospital room, wanting to
know if he was alright. The following several days, she had learned Dead
End's whole story and she took pity on him. Not only that, she also
expressed an interest in adopting him until his mental scars healed
completely. She was told that they might not, and she accepted it
nonetheless.
She had continued to try and heal his mind ever since she took him into
her home. Though it was slow, he had lost the need for hate and malice
and had returned to an innocence of sorts. He sometimes acted a bit
childish, but Nodoka didn't mind; in fact, she recalled the times when
her own son was like that.

In the ocean based base of the Space Knights, all was in a state of
celebration of sorts. Everyone was not as tense, ever since the Lahdam
had been beaten again.
In the lounge, Anita Brannigan sat typing on her laptop. After
finishing two novels, she was now going for a third about being able to
live through the wars and experiencing them firsthand. Not too many
people were able to brag about it. She looked up as the door opened as
Goliath Virgil stepped through, carrying a report to be given to the
Chief.
"Evening Goliath." Anita called. Turning to her, he nodded and walked
by her.
"Say, you know where Natasha is?"
"Last I recall, she went to one of the homes her dad gave her."
Goliath sighed and shook his head, "Why does she keep doing it?"
She looked from her laptop and up to him. "Doing what?"
"You know that Natasha doesn't exactly love her dad."
"Yeah."
"Well, she has this tendency to keep reminding herself to hate him."
"Ahh, I see."
"But what I don't get is that she just lets go and live on."
Starting to type, she said, "Maybe she thinks that if she stops, then
she might oversee the fact of how loathsome he is and forgive him. "
"Still, why doesn't she just let go?"
Anita paused for a second before continuing, "For her, maybe it's the
only thing she can hold onto. She's not exactly the social machine you
know."
"Maybe" Goliath said looking out the window. He then shook his head
and started for the office of the Chief.

In her room Yumi Franquis was carefully pouring in the dark brown
substance into the heart shaped cutter. Being of half Japanese decent,
she wanted to at least keep such a simple tradition such as giving
chocolates to the man they liked alive.
She knew who it was for. The gentle hearted, white armored demon that
had saved her life after she had lost her home, family, and everything
else. She covered the pan and whispered the name of the man she wanted
to give it to.
"D-san."
Everyone else called him Mr. D, but she preferred that. A lot of people
wondered what it meant. Some thought that it meant 'dangerous' or
'demented' or 'distraught'. Personally she thought it meant, 'dream',
because his dream of keeping this legacy alive after all this time had
meant a lot to him.
Then, the doubt returned. During the second war with the Lahdam, the
Chief had told her that she and D-san were together and had been for
quite a while after Yumi admitted her feelings for him. Even when she
said she would try and win his heart from the Chief and she accepted
that challenge, the doubt was still there.
She then shook it off and went back to getting ready for later when she
would give it to him.

On one of the platforms on the higher levels, David Krugel stared to
the stars. Asking and answering questions to himself. Yet, a single
occurrence in the bible kept nagging him.
"Genesis: 19: 26. But Lot's wife looked back from behind him, and she
became a pillar of salt."
He had no clue why he was quoting that of all things. Had he not been
there brooding over the past, he would most likely be with some girl
that didn't really mean anything.
"Hey David!" a voice called from behind. He turned to see a girl in a
simple brown skirt and white blouse, followed by a woman in a formal
kimono behind him. He blinked twice at seeing the smaller girl.
"D Dedou?" he asked with eyes wide. Dedou smiled, ran over to him, and
hugged his best friend fiercely. After the short exchange ended, Dedou
stepped back and twirled around in his outfit.
"So, what do you think?" he asked.
Unsure of what to say, Nodoka stepped up behind Dedou and placed a hand
on his shoulder. "He thinks it's nice Dedou-kun." David quickly nodded
in agreement. "Say, Dedou-kun, could you be so kind as to get your
mother's satchel from the transport, I think I left it there."
Blinking, but not arguing, Dedou ran back to the loading bay. When he
was out of earshot, Nodoka's smile faded and she turned to David.
"You ok?"
He shook his head and turned back to the stars. "I never was. What
makes it worse is that today is Valentine's Day. The day when you show
how you feel for the one you care for. What makes it bad is that the
woman I love is already with someone else that was meant for her. What
makes it even worse is that she knows that I love her."
"Is that the reason for the bible reference?" she asked walking beside
him, but looking to the sea. He simply nodded and looked down over the
railing. Nodoka sighed, "You know why Lot's wife turned into a pillar of
salt. Because she looked back. Are you scared that you'll turn into a
pillar of salt if you look forward?"
He laughed a bit and replied sarcastically, "Of course! Here I am,
Teknos Dirk, Warrior and Lover of Women, yet I still don't have the guts
to get over the first woman I ever loved and look forward."
Unfazed, Nodoka continued. "It's not a matter of courage David-dono.
It's of letting go and facing what happens next. Regardless of whatever
happened before."
Snorting, David countered, "What do you know?"
"A lot more than you think. I've been living for the past 160 years and
I've had a lot of time to try and get over my resentment for my husband
for what he did to my son all those years ago."
"Does it always take that long?"
"No, it simply depends on how much you want to change for the better.
It took me until about 20 years after my husband passed away for me to
finally forgive him and move on. I could have spent those final moments,
loving the man I married instead of treating him with contempt because
of his selfish interests."
"And yet you still regret being that way."
"Yes, I regret that, but what I don't do is let it become the center of
my life unlike someone here David-dono."
He turned to her and said with a sad smile, "It must be wonderful to
know what it's like to live without something that drags you down."
She smiled back, reached over and pulled him into a hug, "Give it time.
It turns out to be the best medicine."
Pulling back from the embrace, he smiled at her and said, "I'll give it
a try. Maybe it'll work."
She nodded and added, "But don't just try David-dono, 'do'. It makes it
seem a little easier." She walked a short distance to watch the Southern
Cross in the sky.
By that time, Dadou had returned, without the satchel, " I searched
throughout the whole transport and I couldn't find it. You sure you
brought it mother?"
Nodoka shrugged. "Well, I guess that I must have left it at home. Gomen
Dedou-kun." He didn't seem bothered by it that much, and instead, he
want and gave David another hug. She smiled and said, "I'm going to go
say hi to a few other friends of mine. Dedou-kun, I want you to be good,
ok?"
He smiled and nodded as Nodoka left them both.
"Uh, Dedou.."
"Yeah?"
"Couldyou let goplease? I can't breathe"
*************************************************
In the office that only Mr. D and the Chief knew about, they both
looked at the sky through the window. Mr. D was on a small couch with
the woman he knew and loved for a long time and they both took this
small amount of time and enjoyed the silence and each other's company.
Ness Carter, also known as Mr. D said to the woman. "Star."
Star Summers, Chief of the Space Knights replied quietly. "Yes?"
"With this holiday and all, it makes me wish there was more of it."
She replied with a short laugh. "I agree, we have little time together
as it is."
"Well, at least we got this time. When was the last time we were able
to do this?"
"I believe that it was about in '12."
"Hmph. Looks like we were kept pretty busy with everything that's been
happening."
A short silence made its way between them as the lights in the city
started to turn on with the sunset. It was broken as Star asked, "You
seem pensive, Ness. Why?"
"I'm not sure. I think it mostly has to do with Franquis."
"I'm not surprised somehow."
"You shouldn't be. You know how I feel about this whole ordeal and how I
feel about you is not going to change."
"I hope so."
"I've been talking with Kawakami. He does like Yumi, but he just needs
to get the courage to be able to tell her. Ringo gave the guy the same
talk he gave me about how he could show how he felt, and knowing that,
it'll most likely work."
She smiled and leaned her head on his shoulder, "Is that where you got
the idea to give me that crystal rose all those years ago?"
He chuckled, "Of course." With that, his arm wrapped over her shoulders
and he held her close, watching the last few rays of the sun set over
the west. After a full day, both of them hoped that the silence would
last. Yet, they knew that the rest of the Space Knights would be leaving
the compound for the festival in town and they would have to leave this
perfect moment.
"You think we should join them?" She whispered tiredly.
"Just a minute." He whispered back as he kissed her on the side of her
head. "It might be a while before we get this chance again."
So, watching the night beginning to creep up on them, they basked in
the comfortable silence they had.
*************************************************
Later, things were closing up as most were going to the center of town
where all the excitement was. Save for the head personnel, the rest of
the crews were already gone.
"Ok everyone, now that things are taken care of, we need to get
everyone out of here." Atsuko said to the remaining Teknos Space Knights
and special personnel. She looked over everyone present and then asked,
"Hey, has anyone seen Tina?"
Yumi raised her hand, "Last time I saw her, she was near the rec area.
I'll go get her." With no objections, she ran down the hall. For some
reason though, David couldn't help but follow her, knowing how volatile
'little miss Sunshine' could be.
In the rec area, Tina sat alone, stooped over a counter, drinking a
glass filled with cheap vodka. Words couldn't say how much she hated
this day. It made her wish she was back on Gaia, but since there were
things to be taken care of, she decided to stay here. A voice of a
certain young woman took her attention from the glass.
"Tina-san Tina-san, oh there you are. Come on, everyone's ready to
go." Yumi said, running up behind Tina.
Turning, Tina glanced at the young Teknos Warrior and said, "Wanna talk
for a sec?" Yumi blinked, shrugged, and took the stool beside her as the
elder Warrior continued. "You wanna know why I'm here, doing this?"
Clearly confused, Yumi nodded nonetheless. "It's because I hate this
day it's about an emotion that broke me and made me into this
self-loathing piece of crap." With that she took a rather large gulp
from her glass.
Not wanting to see someone like this, Yumi asked, "But why do you hate
yourself? I mean, it can't be that bad."
"It's because I made a stupid mistake and I hated myself and still
hate myself because those feelings that are still there when they should
just take a hike. To most others, it would seem as though I would be
acting childish." Without warning, she slammed her glass on the counter
without breaking it, "WHAT DO THEY KNOW?"
Seeing Yumi horrified at the extreme display of emotion made Tina
rethink of what to say next. "Sorry about that." An uncomfortable
silence fell upon both of them. Until Yumi broke it asking,
"Ano Tina-san. Is there anyone out there whom you think would like
you?"
Tina nearly chuckled at that. "If there is, they're either not born yet
or they're too far away for me to reach them. So, I gave up on it a
while back. What about you? Doesn't that Hayato guy like you?"
Yumi blushed a bit, "Well, I never did think of him that way but it's
just that"
Tina interrupted her, using a mocking tone, " but it's just that Slade
happened to touch my heart first." Her scowl deepened, "Get real kid. I
already lost him before I even knew him. Star and Slade have something
that you can't interfere with. They've been that way for the past 17
years and I highly doubt that a starry eyed little putz like you is
gonna change anything."
Yumi stood in complete shock at what she was told. "T Tina-san how
how can you be so mean?"
"I'm just getting warmed up. Since it's a little more than obvious you
don't give a rats tail about Hayato, I just might consider taking him
from you. I know a few things," Tina's eyes narrowed as her smirk
deepened, "Who knows? It just might make a man out of him. And he'll
curse the day he met you in the end."
Gritting her teeth, Yumi could not believe at what she just heard. In
total frustration, she stomped away from the semi-sober Tina and back to
the entrance, not even noticing David as she passed him.
Seeing Yumi go, he looked back to Tina as he heard her mumble something
to the darkness.
"Slade I just got rid of an annoyance. Star I just got rid of your
competition. Hayato I got your girlfriend to protect you from me." Like
before, she slammed her empty glass on the counter, only this time she
broke it. "SO THANK ME!!" Noting the silence, she leaned on her arms and
hoped the booze would kick in and make her pass out. "I figured as
much."
David walked up behind her and was about to touch her shoulder when he
heard her speak. "Touch me and I will personally de-sex you, pretty
boy."
He froze, shrugged, and took a stool a few seats away from her. "Just
wondering what you were doing down here."
She sighed and replied, "Oh, just brooding in my own self-loathing,
getting drunk in hopes that this stupid day will end sooner, and
continuously driving any and all kinds of help from all sides."
He smiled as he turned to her, "That bad, huh?"
Her glare confirmed the affirmative.
Turning to the darkness, he whispered back.
"I know how you feel."
*************************************************
Just outside the front doors of the compound, Yumi stomped out, mad at
Tina for even saying such a thing. Using poor Hayato for her own ends
and make him hate her, and telling her not to even bother to chase her
dreams. She had no idea that anyone could be so mean!
"Yumi-chan!" Cried a male voice from behind her. She turned to see
Hayato running up to her with a small package in his hands. He took a
minute to catch his breath as he tried to continue, "I've been
looking everywhere for you. There's something I wanted to give you."
She blinked and wondered what exactly it was, but he continued to hid
the exactly description of the box he held. He told her to close her
eyes, so she did so. The next thing she knew, a slim box was placed into
her hands. She opened to see a box, wrapped in red and white streams.
"Go ahead, open it." he said with a smile.
She lifted the top of the box to reveal a necklace, made of solidified
crystal rose petals. A simple, yet beautiful gift that any woman would
like and would last a long time. She looked up to him and whispered, "I
think I think it's beautiful. Could you please put this on me?"
He nodded, took the necklace from the box, walked behind her, and put
the ends of the necklace at the back end of her neck.
During this, Tina's words about what she would do and about Hayato came
back to mind. She wanted to continue to follow her dreams, but she
wondered that if she tried to continue, she would end up like Tina. Not
exactly liking that option, she wondered what she could do for him. She
blinked, turned to Hayato and said quickly, "Say, could you wait here
for a few minutes? I need to get something."
He nodded and she ran back to the barracks as fast as she could. A few
minutes later, she had returned with the chocolate heart that she had
made earlier that day. She broke it in half and offered him the other
piece.
He smiled and took it slowly, not wanting to ruin the moment, "Doumo
arigato Yumi-chan."
They both got a full second to look into each others eyes before they
quickly looked down again. It would have stayed that way, had not a
third voice interrupted. "Hey guys! Come on, we're going to be late, we
gotta catch up with the others." David yelled, taking both of their
hands and dragging them to the festival grounds.
From behind the glass door, Tina stared out at the retreating three
forms. <True I hate this day. But, there are some redeeming things
about it. > She frowned when she realized there was nothing that would
come to mind. She huffed and went through the door, locking it just
before she closed it. She shrugged as she started to walk to the
festival grounds. <Ahh, I'll think of something tomorrow. >

[WH comes out for the notes]
WH: Man, what a day this has been! If you read the timeline above, good
job. Or else NONE of the things that happened in this story would make
sense.
At first, I was thinking of not putting Tekkaman Blade II into the
storyline of this megaxover, but after I got the OAV series from a
friend of mine. You can get them from the Capsule Corp. fansubbers at
http://www2.cybernex.net/~general/ I think. I just heard it from a
friend of mine. If I am wrong, please forgive me.
If anyone wants a full version of my timeline, please Email me
privately and I will send it to you.
If you like it, great! If you don't, why'd you bother reading this? If
you have questions, Email me.
