**For starters, although the UCMJ (Uniform Code of Military Justice--a
document that outlines military judicial rights) outlines the basic
procedures, the three Departments within the Department of Defense (DOD):
the Department of the Army (DA), Department of the Air Force (DAF) and the
Department of the Navy (DON) (which also includes, for judicial purposes,
the Marine Corps and the Coast Guard), have different procedures for their
court-martial and non-judicial punishment systems, although all goverened by
the procedures in the UCMJ.  therefore, it would, for starters, depend what
service the offender is in.
