Hi! This is my second post, I guess. I'd appreciate any thoughts
on how I could improve my writing. Thanks to everyone about my last post.
God! How many people out there want me to continue 'Promises'?

Awakening
By Myrriden
AKA Shane McCoy

*Who are you?* The voice whispered, insistent.
Her eyes opened suddenly, straining to focus on the speaker.
Instead, she saw only a vauge whiteness, like the dewy inside of a cloud.
	*Who are you?*

	"Me?" She asked, cautious.

	*Who are you?*

	"I... I'm... Syl..."

*Who are you?* insistent, yet patient.

	"Syl...Sylvie."

	*What are you, Sylvie?*

	"What am I?"

	*What are you, Sylvie?*

	"I don't understand..."

	*What are you, Sylvie?*

"I'm..." She paused in thought, "I'm a girl."

The speaker seemed to sigh. *Tell me about yourself, Sylvie.*
			*What do you remember?*

"Remember?" She struggled through half forgotten memories, most
of them bad, piled inside of her soul. "I remember my friends... escaping
from a monster...hurting people...hurting them to save... Anri?"

*What was Anri to you? Why would you hurt people for her?*

"She...she was my friend." Sylvie thought hard, straining to
remember. "I wanted...freedom."

	*Freedom from what, Sylvie?*

"I...I don't know." Tear beaded the tips of her eyes, slowly they
receded down her face, leaving glistening trails.

*It's alright.* the voice gently told her. *Knowledge will come
with time.*
*Now, what do you remember, Sylvie?*

"After that...I found something...I can't remember what it was."
She began to choke back the sobs. "These things...chased me...shot
me...Then...then Priss...Priss shot me. I told her too, she shot me..."

*It's alright. She shot you only because she loved you too much
to allow you to become a menace, that which you despised. She cared
deeply for you, Sylvie. Now. . .*
		*What do you see?*

"I see..." the clouds began to recede, leaving images.
"I see..." memories rushed in to fill the void.
	"Daddy?"
