Well, they've only been advertising it for the past
couple _months_ as "Best Ranma Fanfic Poll of 1997"
and since it _is_ the only poll currently on the FFML
(and one of two on the web) they probably thought
nobody would be stupid enough to misunderstand them.
Obviously they were wrong.

Obviously someone here is out of line.

Or were they stupid enough to try and imply that is was
some kind of "official" poll that the FFML had something
to do with in order to hype their fics?

Now this has gone too far.

Hai, for both of them.

We are not interested in hyping our fics. You will notice that neither
Nick nor I were in the top three - if we were "rigging" the polls and
interested in "hyping" our fics, obviously we would have placed our fics
in the top three.

Well, you *did* say something on your page about 'ego-gratification'...but
yes, I agree, there's nothing to suggest that these polls were rigged.
Besides, Hearts of Ice rocked. :)

We are not affiliated with the FFML - if you'd bothered to check, you
would have seen that same message on the Ranma ML, raac, raaf, and raai.
And indeed, nowhere and at no time did we say we *were* affiliated with
the FFML - indeed, it's difficult for me to think how someone could come
to that conclusion.

Tybalt is controlling their minds... ;)

A final note to the FFML at large: let's please stop posting on this
subject in public. I think everyone clearly understands what's happening
here, and to continue to post on it is counter-productive. Rather than
arguing about polls, we should all be writing fics! ^_^

Say, Richard, when's your next tear-jerking award-winning undoubtedly
much-cheered story coming out? ;)

He and Runas's two younger brothers walked off, and he noticed
disconcertingly that Naolus was smiling - meaning that he was up to
mischief. As long as I'm not a part of it, little guy, Runas thought
grimly, preparing a polite statement to greet an aging duke that was
walking towards him.
Too late, Runas growled an oath as he realized his pockets were empty.
