Carter: We're back!
Moon and Sailor Pluto, although not exactly on the best of terms,
watched each other's back as several spheres of chronological death
and blades of silver screamed through the air. They both made a note,
not to be more than ten feet of each other, for any kind of
inattention could lead to dire consequences.
Carter: I can't imagine what. <shifty look>
Martins: <sweatdrop>
"MOON CRESCANT BLADE!" Serena screamed as more of her primary weapon
sailed into and through five spidercrabs. Destroying them all. Looking
down, she saw the under-powered and almost overwhelmed Sailor Pluto.
Brian: Err...that would be 'Crescent'
Pluto, although grateful to Moon that she had saved her, felt that
assurance vanish as she saw Serena's silver glow dash at her. Instead
of ending her life then and there, she felt Serena catch her in her
right arm and leave the battle field with a few of the spider crabs in
pursuit. They were lost as both of them hid within one of the few
standing buildings.
Brian: Heh, I am not gonna do an "drawer check" joke here.
Carter: <lowering emitter armband> Good decision.
<SNIP>
This didn't deter Serena as she continued, "Susan. Why? What keeps you
>from accepting it?"
Brian: Huh?
Susan blinked, "What?"
"The darkness, Susan. Why haven't you followed the rest of us and
become strong?"
Brian: Oh.
The hardness and pure ice in Serena's gaze stripped Susan of her
confidence as she replied, "Becausea as Sailor Scouts, we are supposed
to be as devoted to the light as we can. Not daring to touch the
darkness."
Carter: <nodding> Just like in the Star Wars movies.
Martins: And of course, we know what happened there.
<SNIP>
Susan couldn't believe what she heard next. Laughter. Not devoid of
sanity, but pure, mirthful, and joyous laughter. Until the following
snarl scared the wits out of Sailor Pluto, "And here I thought you
were supposed to be intelligent! Get off that blasted pedestal that
our pasts have put us up on and get real! You think that just because
we have to be defenders, we have to ONLY be in the light?
"That's not how reality works, you can't have good without evil and
the reason why we've grown strong is that we met the evil within us
all and we conquered it."
Carter: That makes sense.
To the surprise of Moon, she began to hear sobbing, and it was coming
>from Susan. Moon turned around and knelt in front of the crying
Sailor, wondering what was wrong.
All: <facefault>
"Ita it's just thata I have no control over anything any more! I've
lost the ability to travel through time, I can not put up a fight
anymorea I was so used to being omniscient and nowa I know nothing.
And I am of no use to anyone anymorea"
Carter: Wow.
Martins: Never thought I'd see the day this happened.
<SNIP the mind meld>
Brian: I am NOT gonna do a mind meld joke.
Carter: Thank you.
Soon enough, a woman, wearing black and shade-purple full plate armor
stepped forth. The whirlwind dissipated into nothing and the woman
turned to Serena. There was now confidence, understanding, and
determination behind her eyes as she noticed Serena, and knelt.
Brian: She's back!!
"I, Pluto, Soldier of Time, am now at your disposal Lady Serenity."
Rolling her eyes, Moon, lifted up her friend, smiled, and said, "Forget
the formalities. We got a planet to save." Before Pluto could either
apologize or agree, a spider crab burst through the wall.
Err...you have an extra line floating there, WH.
Before Serena could even summon her blades, Pluto stepped in front of
her and extended an arm, yelling, "PLUTO CHRONOS DISRUPTOR!" The very
second her weapon was announced, several spheres of dark purple energy
appeared around the giant and shot through it. Only to be replaced by
more, which followed suit, until the crab was no more.
All three: Ouch
<SNIP>
"URANUS SEISMIC SPIRE!" From no where, several spires of rock erupted
form the ground and pierced every last crab that was attempting to
take Venus' life. Mina looked to her right to see Alex, stabbing the
Star Sword into the ground. She looked a little worse for wear, but
more than sane enough to kill the crabs that killed the only one who
meant anything to her.
Carter: If anything happened to Julia, I would do the same.
Martins: As would I if anything happened to you.
<Brian passes out from the intense and sudden sugar shock
<SNIP>
Fifteen minutes later, all the spider crabs had been slashed, pierced,
flamb_ed, frozen, exploded, imploded, and just plain killed.
Carter: You forgot barbequed. :-)
Several gashes appeared on Serena's left arm as she saw the reason for
their being there. With no words being needed, the six Soldiers
attackeda and soon regretted it.
Brian: Ouch.
Every time one would try to attack, Rapier would simply vanish into a
blur of lines and find a brand new injury somewhere on their bodies.
Even super-teaming him proved to be fruitless.
Carter: This is one tough opponent.
Martins: When did he get that ability?
Brian: Back in "Shara's Last Gift", right, WH?
<SNIP>
It would have easily lanced her through, had not a spear from nowhere
forced it into the ground. Raye looked to her right to see another
teknoman. His yellow-topaz, ruby, and sapphire colored armor gleaming
in the light. Rapier was too confused at seeing this new comer that
the stranger whacked him away, grabbed Reye, and flew off.
All: Hi Chad.
Carter: Shouldn't that be "Raye"?
"I promised you I'd be back. Didn't I?" the voice within the suit of
armor whispered to her.
Raye blinked. "Chad?"
He nodded and landed about a block or two from where Rapier was. For
the time being, they were temporarily safe.
Martins: Heh, temporarily, indeed.
<SNIP Luna's idea, Chad's help, and Luna's chant>
All three: <about the Chad/Raye scene> Awwwwwwww.......
Chad retorted with as much bravery as he could put into this lie,
"Forget them, it's you I wanna fight. Why waste time with them when
you can get beaten by me?"
Brian: Uh boy.
Carter: And the Chad effect goes into full swing.
Martins: Huh?
Brian: See any SM episode with Chad in it. :-)
Rapier smirked beneath his helmet and drew his weapon. "So, you too
have a death wish? Very well then, boy, I'll make sure it's granted,
after I've had some fun with you!" With that, he vanished into the
same blur that had eluded his previous opponents.
Carter: Uh, Chad? I suggest dodging.
Chad drew his weapon and prepared to attack, but got no further as
Rapier's shoulder collided with his back and forced him into the next
building.
All: <wince>
<SNIP>
Luna could feel the power of all nine of the planets fill her body and
soul. It was beyond overwhelming. It was also painful. With all this
power, came the screams of the suffering, the wailing of those who had
lost loved ones, and so on.
She felt like she was losing consciousness, until a new one came out of
nowhere and took over.
Carter: This does not bode well.
<SNIP Chad-crater>
There, standing within a golden aura, stood what would have passed for
any normal woman. The only discoloration seemed to be the darker gold
plates on her body. Upon her back, a pair of massive feathery wings
hung, the only difference was that these ones seemed more rigid and
hard. Her facial features were more cat-like, but the voice that she
spoke with was not. The entire world seemed to tremble slightly at the
mere whisper of this god-like being.
Carter: Why does the name "Seraphim" come to mind?
Martins: Why I have no idea. :-)
Brian: Well...except for the cat features.
"So, you're the one that has decided to pit your strength against mine.
I shall be more than willing to oblige." With no warning, the female
in the golden haze charged again. The only difference was that this
time, Rapier had time to dodge a fist that would have easily taken off
his head.
Carter: I believe Rapier's a little outclassed.
B&M: A *little*?
<Mini-SNIP>
That was when she spoke again. "You knowa I should thank you. No one
has EVER hurt me like you have." She took a second to glance at her
shoulders. "Pain is a sensation I never felt before. And it feels
wonderful!" She brought back her right fist, threw it forward, and
pierced Rapier's left shoulder.
All three: <sweatdrop>
She smiled darkly and whispered, "I intend to repay you for showing me
pain." With that, she injected a massive amount of power into the
teknoman's body. The resulting explosion threw Rapier through five
buildings, and relieved him of the arm that had once been on the left
side of his body.
All: Ouch!
Carter: Even though he is a slimeball, you had to feel that.
<SNIP>
In the air, the woman's wings had tripled in number. Then, she spread
her arms and wings to their fullest and a sphere of light began to
develop about her. "Now, behold your reward. My name and a mere
sampling of my power!" The sphere about her suddenly shrunk to be
carried into her hands, and forcing the sphere down, she screamed,
"SOLAR COMET STRIKE!"
All: 0_0!!!
Carter: THAT'S a mere sampling?? <sweatdrop>
At that time, Rapier's own weapon had been brought to its apex and he
released a literal tidal wave of zetronic anitmatter at the sphere
that flew down at him. Both red and gold colored energies seemed to
have neither gained nor lost any ground as their struggle for
dominance continued.
Carter: Evil vs. greater evil. I like that.
Brian: <sweatdrop> I think we're reading a little much into this.
Rapier would not yield to this woman, and he would have continued had
he not felt the spear that pierced his leg. He took a brief glance at
his assailant and saw Spear flying away. And that was his final
mistake.
Martins: <G> Do tell.
Seeing his attention elsewhere, Solar forced her weapon through
Rapier's. The teknoman screamed with horror as an explosion that would
have made an A-bomb seem small, engulfed him completely. Within
seconds, his shadow was lost in the sphere of light.
Brian: To quote Ivanova: "Boom. Big Boom."
<SNIP>
She sighed. <There is nothing here for me. Not only that, the will of
my children supercedes my own. My time has long since past, and I
return to my slumber.> She not only said that to herself, but to the
ten smaller minds that gave her power.
Brian: So...she's not gonna be back?
Carter: I think this is a case of "wasted plot point."
<SNIP de-transformation sequence>
With help from Chad, they Soldiers awakened. Save for Serena. It took
a little extra trying on their part to wake her. Even after she
stirred, it seemed like she wasn't going to stay that way for long as
she asked,
Carter: Heh, same old Serena.
"Did we beat him?"
>Mina nodded to her and whispered back, "Yeah, we won."
Serena smiled and replied before going back to sleep. "Hooray for our
side."
End
All:Whew!!
Carter: Glad that's over!
Brian: Err....we still have the author's notes to go through.
