Why is it that virtually every mega-crossover just *has* to have Ranma 1/2

in

it?  I never get what people see in that show...

1) Because Ranma is one of, if not THE, most popular anime in North America.
2) Because the natural setup of Ranma 1/2 lends itself to crossing over with
other fics.  In terms of characterization, power levels, and relationships,
it can fit in almost anywhere.

You do of course realize this can also be said for a few others, like Sailor
Moon, and Tenchi Muyo. (Or in the case of future fics, BGC)
