The Face in the Mirror
by Michael Gilson
     "Good night, Sister."
     "Good night, Seira. Sleep well."
The pretty 14 year old girl closed the door of the small but
comfortable room she had in the St. Paulia
convent. She crossed over to her desk and sat down, looking into the
mirror as she brushed our her
short chestnut colored hair before going to bed. Seira smiled as she
remembered the conversation
she had with Meimi that afternoon.

     "So Tomoko-sempai returned to America?"
"Yes, Seira. Now that the painting has been recovered honor has been
restored to her parents. She
 can live for herself now."
Seira gave a demure look and said, "And it's all thanks to St. Tail."
"If you hadn't warned me about it before hand, 'St. Tail' would have
been caught in the same trap as
Tomoko-sempai instead of rescueing her from it." laughed Meimi. "How do
you find out all this for me?"
"I learn it by prayer. I consult Kami-sama, and my mother."
At the mention of Seira's mother Meimi looked a little saddened. "I
wish your family could be with
you." she said.
Seira replied, "Don't be sad, Meimi-chan. I know it is Kami-sama's
will that I am apart from my
parents, and I know that someday I will be with them again in His presence."
"But still, not to be able to see their faces must be very painful."
Flashing a brilliant smile, Seira shook her head and said, "But any
time I want to see their faces, all I
have to do is look in a mirror."

"Yes, all I have to do is look in a mirror." With that Seira put down
her brush and reached out and
touched the mirror. It appeared to ripple for a moment, as if someone had
dropped a pebble into a pool
of water. When the rippling stopped two faces peered back at her. One
was a man with slightly spikey
short black hair, and the other was a beautiful woman with long light brown
hair. Both had kind looking
faces.
"Oh, daughter," said the woman, happiness putting small creases into
the markings on her cheeks
and forehead, "It is so good when you call us here at the temple." "Yes,
Sei-chan, I'm really glad to see
you. Are things okay with you?"
"Oh, Mama, Papa! I love talking with you too. I'm fine and working
hard for my qualification just like
Kamisama said. With my help, Meimi was able to get justice for a good
person and see that the wicked
were exposed again. And I think She got a little closer to Asuka jr. as well."
"That's wonderful, my little goddess!" the man enthused. "Yes, and
your Aunt Urd will be happy to
hear the last part." added the woman.
And so let us retire as the young girl and her parents converse,
sharing their love with each other.
May God grant us his divine protection.

Author's notes: Yes it's another fic based on the same voice actress doing
similar characters, in this
case Seira and Belldandy. Unfortunately I have only seen the four episodes
of St. Tail dubbed by
Project Genki, read the two episode summaries on Hitoshi Doi's web page and
seen a few
untranslated episodes from late in the series. So I don't know if Mimori
Seira is really an orphan, I just
assumed it from the line in the omake that the sisters didn't allow her to
buy snacks. Likewise I
assumed from a single line that Seira did the research for Meimi's thefts,
and that the source of this
imformation was never revealed.
It occurs to me that it might be fun to write something when the same
voice actor does non similar
characters. For example, Gundam 8th Team and Ranma 1/2: The Jion ace had
easily defeated the
Federation suits, and now surveyed the battlefield. "Oh, my." she said,
and activating her weapons
'beam broom' mode proceeded to tidy up the rubble.
