I must agree there. While I wasn't disturbed to see a completely
different future Endymion (things can happen in about a thousands
years), I've been very bothered by the caracterisation of Mamoru.
Having him asking Usagi's Hand because of the dream is in line with the
personnage. The fact that he is, already, somebody prone to very violent
reactions against loved ones isn't. Another thing that I find hard to
believe is that none of the people who know what he can become will tell
him. From the moment he knows about the existence of Chibi-Usa, it
doesn't make sence. I would at least expect somekind of explanation from
Usagi, who first of all, would want to change the future.

Why is it hard to reconcile that Usagi might put the safety of Chibi-Usa
comes before her love and commitement to Mamoru? The charges have never
been defined and he could have been imprisoned falsely. I have them
purposefully undefined to allow the broadest scope of ideal.  It makes
perfect sense, the Senshi are respecting Usagi's wishes. Also they really
don't know because Usagi hasn't said much, fearing retribution either in
Rei's scathing defense of Mamoru (perception) or Makoto's over reaction on
a physical level. Usagi also has the problem that her parents are involved
and they are putting pressure on her. The characterization of Mamoru is a
simple matter of views. Some view him as one who can not do any evil. Even
if he is a fictional character he's human and that part makes darker
actions possible. As to Usagi telling him, she's had a lot dumped on her.
The newest part that I've been working through finally has her explaining
it to Mamoru...

Look Mr. Davies was kind enough to apologize and I've put the matter behind
me. I'm more interested in writting then fighting. This has likely never
been the first or last time that some has disagreed with Mamoru's
characterization, or any characterization for that matter. I simply ask
that people keep an open mind. Whether some people whish to recognize it or
not Endymion and Mamoru are pretty much the same person. If Mamoru has the
potential to put Usagi through mental angish over a silly dream *without*
telling her then he's certainly capable of darker acts.

So this won't turn into something ugly, and to limit the possible erruption
of a characterization debate please reply to me privately.
