In point of fact, the big mystery about the prior story was whether
the wish revealed a relationship that had always existed (and had been
the reason Urd was sent to Ranma in the first place), or whether
the wish had actually changed history to retroactively make Urd his
mother, which in the new timeline of course led to Urd being sent
to Ranma...

Exactly my point, I'm glad to see I'm not completely useless ^_^
