Prologue 3: The Wedding: Part 3: One Small Problem
*************************************************
The three Earth Defense Force soldiers, members of the elite
Crystal Knights squadron, looked on in awe and horror at the devastated
area around them, and at the one person that caused it all.
Waves of heat radiated from the cracked sidewalk and earth around the
large, well built man. In his eyes was a look that spoke of madness,
yet was cool and calculating. The gazes of the three Knights,
however, were locked on to the person that the man held under one
arm....
"Ami..." Major Carter muttered.
At that, the man seemed to notice the three Crystal Knights. He
turned to face them, and with a hint of a smile that spoke nothing of
happiness, raised an arm and said one word: "Discipline."
At that, a red wave of energy streamed out of his hand towards the
three Knights.
"Oh, shit! Scatter and counterattack!!" Carter yelled while
turning her bike around to escape the attack. From the corner of her
eye, she could see Natsume and Martins also manage to dodge the
attack. She turned the bike back around towards the man. "Julia,
Atsuko, aim for the legs. Be careful you don't hit Ami. Go to battle
armor mode NOW!!"
With that, she hit a control switch on her bike's handlebars, and
her bike changed forms, becoming a suit of powered armor. Martins and
Atsuko were in their configured armors as well. Together, they turned
to face the man, who just stood impassively, staring at them.
Natsume stepped forward. "Guys, I'll take the first shot, cover
me." she said, drawing out her armor's handgun. The others nodded and
stepped back, all the while keeping an eye on their opponent.
Natsume powered up her suit's thruster and leaped over the man's
head to land behind him. As soon as she had landed, she spun around
and aimed a shot at the man's legs. It should be noted here that
Atsuko Natsume had the best scores of all the Crystal Knights at
markmanship. The shot should have hit.....
...but instead bounced off a hexagonal shaped force field about
halfway to the target. Natsume had little time to wonder about this as
the man slammed a hand into the ground while saying "Baksuai
Tenketsu!!" The resulting ground quake threw Natsume off her feet and
onto her rear. Carter and Martins immeadiately opened up with their
handguns, but were stopped by the same force field. Then....
"SOLAR BEAM BLAST!!"
"CRESENT MOON BEAM!!"
"Dead Scream."
Sailors Solaris, Pluto, and Eternal Moon arrived on the scene.
With their fire distracting the man, Carter crept up behind him,
powered up her thrusters and flew at the man, half expecting to
meet the force field.
To her surprise, she passed through, managed to kick the man in
the face with an armored boot, and grabbed Ami from his grasp.
Rocketing away, she could hear the man roar in anger. Landing near the
Senshi, she saw Sailor Moon float down to join her while the other two
Sailors covered them and pressed the attack against the man.
"Ami? Ami, can you hear me? Ami, please wake up!" Sailor Moon
was trying to revive her friend. Finally, Ami opened her eyes and
groane
"Ami! Are you all right?" Sailor Moon asked.
"Yes, Usagi, I'm fine. Though I'll have a headache for a while.
What happened?"
Major Carter answered. "We were heading to the Shrine when we
heard some explosions. We came by to see some man with you draped
under his arm. Do you have any idea who he is?"
Ami sat up and looked at the battle nearby. "Oh no...." she
breathed. Then she summoned her transformation pen.
"MERCURY CRYSTAL POWER....MAKEUP!!"
The man turned around to spot them at that instant, and with a
dark red aura forming around him, threw his arms out wide while
screaming "ULTIMATE DISCIPLINE!!!
The resulting explosion threw the Sailors and the Knights to the
ruined ground, while Eternal Moon managed to escape by using her wings
to fly away. The man then turned toward Mercury, dazed by the attack.
He reached a hand out to her, and a red energy ball blasted out
towards her. The rest of the Senshi and the Knights were still knocked
senseless by the blast and could do nothing as a ball approached
Mercury...
...only to be shot out of the air by a rose. Only this rose was
in the center of a yellow cresent shaped energy beam.
The man looked up to where Tuxedo Kamen stood with Sailor Moon,
who had the Cosmic Moon Sword pointed in his general direction.
"A beautiful day such as today should not be ruined by a monster
like you." Tuxedo Kamen stated dramatically. The man answered by
throwing another energy attack. Tuxedo Kamen jumped off while
Sailor Moon flew to safety. Then....
"MOKO TAKABISHA!!"
"BAKUSAI TENKETSU!!"
"BURNING MANDALA!!"
"VENUS LOVE AND BEAUTY SHOCK!!"
"SILENCE GLAVE SURPRISE!!"
"WORLD SHAKING!!"
"DEEP SUBMERGENCE!!"
"JUPITER OAK EVOLUTION!!"
The rest of the Senshi, along with Ranma and Ryoga, had arrived
and launched their attacks on the man, who just stood there as the
attacks bounced off the force field. Sailor Moon and Tuxedo
Kamen were standing near the Knights, who were trying to get to
Mercury. Carter was on the radio, calling for backup and a containment
team. Just then, the man turned and fired off another shot at
Mercury.
Sailor Moon brought up the Moon Sword, but the man fired
another energy blast that knocked her on the ground and knocked the
Cosmic Moon Sword away. Sailor Moon could do nothing but watch
s the energy wave sped towards her friend...
...who was suddenly covered as a person jumped inbetween her and
the shot. Silence ensued for a second or two...
"RRRYYYYYYYOOOOOOOO!!!!!!" The scream from Mercury was enough to
halt the battle as everyone turned towards the blue haired Senshi who
cradled her boyfriend's body in her lap. Ryo had hurled himself in
front of Mercury to take the shot himself. Ryo opened his eyes to see
his girlfriend looking down at him with tears in her eyes. He smiled.
"Well, Ami, I guess we're even now." he joke
"Oh God, Ryo, please hang on!!" Mercury begged, tears streaming
down her face. Saturn used the distraction to sneak over to where
Mercury lay. The man moved to attack, but was struck by an
tack from behind him. He turned around to face four Devil Hunters in
battle garb and holding their weapons in a way that promised extreme
hurt for whoever faced them.
As the man turned to face the four Devil Hunters, Saturn managed
to heal Ryo, to Mercury's relief.
Belldandy chose that moment to appear. "Senshi! Your powers as
they are now cannot hope to defeat this thing. Meet us behind the
school! Hurry!" With that, she disapeared.
"Oh, great, now how do we get away from Mr. Congenality here?"
Carter asked as she kneeled down to take Ryo in her arms in preparation
to retreat
"Leave that to me." Everyone looked towards Mercury, who was
standing up and looking unusually...angry.
"Ami...?" Sailor Moon said.
Mercury didn't respond, but instead walked over to the battle
scene.
"STOP!!!!!"
The man turned to look at Mercury, who had a look that was equal
parts of sadness, defiance, and anger.
"You have hurt my friends," she shouted, "destroyed property, and
nearly killed my boyfriend!! For this, I can never forgive
you...Father!
If the situtation were any less tense, everyone for three blocks
around would have facefaulted.
"Ami's..." Mars stammered.
"...father??" Solaris finished.
The man looked unimpressed, and moved to attack when...
"SHINING AQUA ILLUSION!!!!!!!!!!"
The attack broke through the force field and hit the man, encasing
him in a block of ice, which was already starting to crack...
Yoko bounced up to Sailor Moon. "You guys better head over to the
school!" she said. "We can hold him off here!" Ranma and Ryoga moved
up to join the four Devil Hunters. "We'll help too." Ranma said.
Sailor Moon nodded once, and calling Mercury over, the Senshi
headed towards the school, the Crystal Knights following close
behind

At the school, the Senshi saw that the goddesses had carved a
circle into the ground, with some unintellegible writing on the outside
of the design, and ten smaller circles inside, each with the planetary
sign of a Senshi. Belldandy directed the Senshi to stand on the circle
with their sign. The Crystal Knights (with a recovered Ryo and Tuxedo
Kamen) stood out of the way.
Just then, everyone heard the sounds of explosions in the
distance, getting louder, and closer. Major Carter turned to
Belldandy. "Bell, whatever you're planning, do it quick!
Belldandy nodded, and her, Urd and Skuld each stood on a side of
the circle and started chanting in an unknown language.
The armors sensors, and Natsume's own extended sensors, picked up
a power buildup surrounding the Senshi. The circles with the planetary
signs started to glow.
...just as the man lumbered into view. The three Crystal Knights
opened up with all the firepower their suits had, hoping to at least
slow him down. The shots bounced off the force field.
Just then, the goddesses finished chanting, and Belldandy said,
"...and let thine powers be filled...with Eternal light!"
A huge column of energy sprung out of the ground, engulfing the
Senshi and sending everyone nearby tumbling away due to the shockwave.
The only one still standing was the man, who stood over Carter and
prepared to fire. Then...
"MOON ETERNAL POWER..."
"MERCURY ETERNAL POWER..."
"MARS ETERNAL POWER..."
"JUPITER ETERNAL POWER..."
"VENUS ETERNAL POWER..."
"URANUS ETERNAL POWER..."
"NEPTUNE ETERNAL POWER..."
"PLUTO ETERNAL POWER..."
"SATURN ETERNAL POWER..."
"SOLAR ETERNAL POWER..."
"MAKEUP!!!"
The column of light exploded in a multicolored flash, and left
standing there, were the Senshi. But they were different. The other
Senshi's uniforms had changed to mimic Eternal Sailor Moon'
costume, only the tiara was left in place on each of the Senshi's
foreheads.
In Sailor Moon's case however, her costume had changed
dramatically. The wings were larger and more delicate...like the
"wings" on the gown of the two Queen Serenitys, both Moon and Neo. A
nsparent cape flowed from her shoulders to her feet, and a belt with a
winged clasp encircled her waist. In one hand, she held the Cosmic
Moon Sword, and in the other, she held a crystal staff with wings on
the top of the staff. Inside a globe on the staff, shone the Silver
Cystal.
Eternal Sailor Pluto spoke. "Senshi, Ami's father is not acting
of his own free will. A evil force is controlling him. Sailor Moon,
you have the power to free him, but first we must break through the
force field he is using."
"Gee, Pluto, that's nice to know." Eternal Venus said. "Now, why
didn't you tell us this before?"
"Because," Pluto responded, "it wasn't time for you to know just
yet."
Venus shrugged. "Same old Pluto, even with new powers." She then
looked at the man. "Knights, you better get out of the way then. This
could get a little ugly."
"And take care of Ryo." Mercury added.
"Okay, guys, knock his socks off!!" Major Carter said as the
Knights retreated to a safe distance, Ryo in tow.
With the others safe, Venus turned to the other Senshi. "Okay,
who's first?"
"Let's just hit him all at once, he can't beat all of us at the
same time." Mercury suggested, glad it wasn't exactly her father's
fault.
"Good idea, Mercury." Sailor Moon said. "Let's go!!" The Senshi
flew at the man.
Venus crossed her arms in front of her and lowered her head. Her
wings started to glow, and hundreds of energy bolts erupted from the
wings. "VENUS ROMANCE SHOWER!!"
Mars' wings seemed to catch on fire, and she spun around once
before throwing her arms out wide, and a huge fire bird sprung from
her. "MARS PHOENIX STRIKE!!"
Jupiter's body seemed to crackle with electricity, and she
gathered it around the rod in her tiara and also her wings. Then it
seemed to solidify and erupt from her in one giantic bolt.
"JUPITER THRUNDERSTORM BLAST!!"
Ice seemed to gather around Mercury, which solidified into glowing
masses which she then let fly. "MERCURY ICE STORM!!"
A energy ball grew in Uranus' hand, which she then threw into the
ground, causing lava to erupt from the ground. "URANUS MAGMA
ERUPTION!!"
A column of water grew around Neptune, who gathered it in her
hands and let it fly in a huge, twisting column. "NEPTUNE WATERSPOUT
STRIKE!!"
Temporal energy gathered around the Time Staff, which Pluto spun
around once before a bolt of energy flew from the Garnet Orb. "PLUTO
TIME DISTORTION!!"
Deadly energy crackled at the tips of the Silence Glaive, which
Saturn pointed at the man. A white bolt of energy screamed out.
"SATURN DISRUPTOR BOLT!!"
Solaris' body seemed to glow with the light of the sun, which then
collasped into a ball of bright light inbetween her hands. She then
fired that ball at the man, which hit and exploded in a nova bright
blast. "SOLAR NOVA STRIKE!!"
The attacks hit the force field surrounding the man and utterly
demolished it, throwing the man back to hit a tree.
"Sailor Moon, now!!" Mercury cried.
Sailor Moon held the staff above her head, and she held the Cosmic
Moon Sword out parelel to the ground. She spun around on one foot
before bringing the two together above her head. She then brought the
two down in front of her, the sword and the staff held in front of her.
Sparkling energy erupted from the staff and the sword. "ETERNAL
MOONLIGHT HARMONY!!"
Sailor Moon's attack hit the man, and with a white, sparkling
flash, something seemed to separate from the man and fly away. Pluto
narrowed her gaze at it. The man staggered, and then regain his
footing and glared at the Senshi. He raised his arm...and nothing
seemed to happen. The man looked bewildered and tried it again. Still
nothing. He glowered and moved to try a Bakusai Tenketsu...
But then, a purpleish, sticky substance sprayed over the man and
froze him in place. The Senshi looked over to where the Crystal
Knights were standing near a large tanker truck, with a smaller
APC with some EDF soldiers standing nearby.
The man trid to move in the substance, but found that he couldn't
move at all. Major Carter then jetted down in front of the man.
"Don't bother trying to struggle, you aren't getting out."
Sailor Moon came over to Carter. "What is that stuff?" she asked.
Carter turned to Sailor Moon and smiled. "Bakelite. Comes in
very handy when you need to restrain something very quickly."
The Senshi were suddenly distracted by something behind them. Ryo
had gone over to Eternal Mercury and the two of them were embracing
like there was no tomorrow. By this time, the four Devil Hunters,
Ranma, and Ryoga had limped over to them, and the three goddesses had
revived.
Then Ryo let go of Mercury and got down on one knee. He then
brought out a small box. "I guess I can ask what I was going to ask
you before all of this happened. Ami, will you marry me?"
Ami's only reply was to nod her head, her face streaked with old
tears and new tears, and got down to embrace Ryo once more. The only
resopnse that everyone else could think of was: "Awwwwwwww.........."
Just then, a car screeched up to the area. "AMI!!!!" Dr. Mizumo
yelled. Mercury got up and waved to her mother and ran over to
her.
"Princess, I have something to take care of." Pluto suddenly said,
"But I will be back in time for the wedding." She then dissapeared in
a swirl of time energy.
"Were did she go to?" Carter asked, having transformed her armor
back to bike mode.
"Knowing Pluto, she won't tell us until it's too late." Sailor
Moon replied.
"True." Carter replied. She looked around. "Heck of a day,
wasn't it?"
"Yes, it sure was." Moon replied. "And to think, the wedding
itself is only a couple of days away!"
"Yeah, wonder what else will happen now!" Carter replied with a
laugh. She then motioned Martins over. "Usagi, we just got a new
Knight. May I introduce you to Major Julia Martins...
"Okay everyone!!!" Venus suddenly yelled. "Let's get going! We
still have to practice for the wedding!!"
Everyone pelted her with whatever was handy.
Sailor Moon sighed in the arms of her Prince and fiance, Tuxedo
Kamen. Ami and Ryo were still hugging, oblivous to the world around
them.
<Yes, it was a long day,> Sailor Moon thought, reversing her
transformation, <but at least it turned out well. New powers, Ami's
engaged, nothing can stop us now....!>

Eternal Sailor Pluto looked down on the devastation on the ground
with concern, and narrowed her eyes. Below her, was the thing that had
possessed Ami's father and had managed to escape after Sailor Moon's
attack. And now, it had possessed another. But now, it was capable of
far more destruction, not only to the Earth, but also to the timeline
if she could not stop it here and now.
She looked down on her target and planned her attack. <No matter
what,> she thought, <your plan ends here....Bardiel>
Below her, the Angel possessed EVA-03 continued its relentless
attack.

Whew! Another chapter done! Folks, it's getting close now. Just
one more chapter to go, and then the REAL fun begins.
About the Senshi's new attacks: Ahem. If you think the names sound
strange, then think about this: Star Gentle Uterus. There have been
worse.
And for the record, I do like Sailor Mercury. Please don't hurt me
for what I did to her. Believe me, worse has happened. I recall a
little scene in "Sailor Moon Legend." Need I say more?
And notice that I DID give her a happy ending.
Yes, I promised an EVA scene in this chapter, but I accidently
wrote myself into an ending with WAFFiness. I didn't want to ruin the
moment, so the EVA stuff will have to wait until next chapter. I did
however, put in two EVA references. One is rather obvious, the other
rather obscure.
Why upgrade the Senshi's powers? Well, when Destiny's Path starts,
the Senshi will initally be going up against a certain group of white
colored Alien-rejects. Yes, the mass production EVAs. I just figured
that the powers they had at the end of the series wouldn't be able to
do squat against one of those monsters. Plus...they look cool. :-)
For Sailor Moon's new costume, think of it as a cross between her
old Eternal form, Sailor Cosmos (from the manga) and her form in the
future as Neo-Queen Serenity.
Mara? I forgot. You'll see her (briefly) next chapter. :-)
