Order and Chaos. Good and Evil. Light and Dark.

Since the beginning of time, these forces have been locked in an eternal
struggle for dominance; they have all had their defenders and champions,
mortal and immortal alike.

In this age there are three Goddesses, a Trinity of sorts, who defend
order, good, and light in their plane and keep watch over our own
universe. As time passed, two of them chose to enter this plane of
existence and begin involving themselves in mortal affairs; the third has
remained in their home realm, but she has also become involved.

Tsunami, who took the form of a mighty and mystical tree of power, became
the patroness of the race of Juraians and mother to the race of trees
which the Juraians rely on to travel among the stars.

Wasyuu, who took human form and concentrated her power into three gems,
sacrificed the memories of goddesshood for her stay in the mortal plane,
and joined the faculty of the Science Academy.

Tokimi, who remained a goddess, pure of essence and separate from the
mortal world, came to be known to the Cthuwulf, and over time became their
own patron deity.

For a long time, these three Goddesses remained separate, until Tokimi
took matters into her own hands and tried to have Wasyuu brought to her.
Soon afterwards, Wasyuu remembered her true nature - and just in time, as
new threats arose.

Where there is order, there must be chaos.
Where there is good, there must be evil.
Where there is light, there must be darkness.

The balance had to be kept, and three powerful entities had risen from the
eternal Night to restore that balance - even if the cost would be the
blood of Goddesses and the extinction of all mortal beings.

_Trinities_ is the manifestation of an idea I've been kicking around in my
head for some time now, based on some role-playing I've been involved with
on EternityMUCK. The mixed role-playing between Tenchi Muyou! and Iczelion
has provided some interesting ideas, but the core question I came up with
comes strictly from Tenchi Muyou - even though it's a combination of two
distinct continuities.

So far as I know, Tsunami and Tokimi are strictly limited to the Tenchi
Muyou! OAVs; the Wasyuu who appeared in the TV series and at least the
first movie (I know practically nothing about the second) is pretty
definitely mortal, or at least plays by mortal rules, and there is no sign
of the power gems being an issue.
Unfortunately, Kain is from the continuity which doesn't feature
Tsunami at all - the first movie looks like it follows from the continuity
of the first Tenchi Muyou! TV series. But when Kain appeared in the
role-playing on EternityMUCK (where I actually play one character each
from Tenchi Muyou and Iczelion), I started wondering if Kain could be
Tsunami's arch-nemesis, the one whose sole purpose was Tsunami's
destruction.
It followed that the other Goddesses, Wasyuu and Tokimi, could
also have arch-nemeses like that. Tokimi turned out to be easy enough - if
she was the Cthuwulf's patron goddess, then Big Gold and her progeny were
Tokimi's enemies and the Iczers (at least the good ones) were her chosen
warriors, much as Tenchi became Tsunami's chosen warrior. When Chaos
appeared, he assumed the mantle of Tokimi's arch-nemesis since Big Gold
and her children had all been hunted down by the Iczers.
	I'm still working on Wasyuu, though. ^_^;

In any case, _Trinities_ will involve a crossover of at least Tenchi
Muyou! and Iczelion, with references to the earlier Iczer OAVs. The idea
is on the drawing board for now, since I have at least two or three other
projects in the works already.

(P.S. - This is decidedly off-topic, but if *anyone* on the FFML receives
e-mail about the FCC considering minute rates for Internet access, don't
even bother sending it along to the list - it's not true. Last year there
was some truth to it, but the FCC has already said it's not considering
anything of the sort this year; yet there's a rumor making the rounds of
the Internet that it is. I want to try and stop this chain before it comes
through. :)
