Uh-oh!  Deep thought alert!  Raise shields!  Raise shields!  ^^;;

Can the techniques and traditions of warriors in the past stand up to
technology?
No. They can't. Simply put, a trained sniper with a custom rifle can
knock out anyone at any time given a convenient situation. Needless to
say, this is a rather daunting idea. The entire cast of Ranma could
easily be put 6 feet under, on their back in a box without much problem.
A gun, a car and a few rounds of Black Talons would tear them to shreds.
No ki blast, no special technique, nothing at all could save them if they
were simply shot without any warning.

On the other hand, there is no elegance to the solution, and where would
our world be without elegant solutions? ^_-

I mean, a 300 year old master was put out like a candle in a matter of
seconds. All her
killer needed was a very expensive, high powered rifle. (being a good
sniper helped too
I'd imagine) ^_^
Well, yes. That's all it takes. It never takes much more than that, I'd
imagine. Of course, you could always rig up a dead-man's trigger on some
nameless punk, shove him in there and wait for the entire place to blow.
Again, not elegant. Bombs are usually not the elegant solution, though I
can think of a few cases where it would be... heh...

Good scene there, Ethan; blew me away! ^_-
Is Gary with you over there or something? ^^;;
