ACK!!!!! I guess I should answer mailing lists half asleep ^_^ Cousin is of
course right.

The problem with the American manga, however, is that Dark Horse took the
stories from the Japanese manga and published them all out of order for the
American versions.  If you can read Japanese, you're better off with the
originals.

Only the first few evidenlty, because they were trying to keep in line with
the anime timeline somewhat. I still hold that the anime, while very
excellent, was incredibly depressing (I was in tears the last couple of
episodes) and doesn't do justice to the cheerful sillyness of the manga.
