The Colonel is sitting on the patio reading the Gravition Star newspaper
when Shiko walks out of the house with a chicken perched on top of her
head.
The Colonel: "What's up Shiko?"
Shiko: "I've been working on my recipe for chicken soup."
The Colonel: "Keeping up the family tradition I see. Then what's the
matter?"
Shiko: "The chicken ran away." (She continues to look around.)
The Colonel: (Gives the chicken his old poultry appraisal look and it
quietly sneaks away.) "Well look, here's another Project A-ko
fanfic."
Shiko: "Yay! How does it start?"

Subject: [FFML] [Story Fragment/Idea] Project A-Ko/Babylon 5
(This probably takes place during the first or second season of Babylon 5,
before the episode "Divided Loyalties". 2258 or *early* 2259, in other
words.)
Shiko: "What's Babylon 5?"
The Colonel: "An old TV show. The reruns play on cable."
Shiko: "Oh, like detective Nick Knight on Nick at Night?"
"So where to now?" Ivanova asked as she stood with Eiko in the
departure lounge.
"To Narn, first, and then ... I don't know," the red-haired
demigoddess replied. "Maybe I'll hear a rumour there, a lead to where she
is. It could happen."
Shiko: "Eiko's my goddess. I hope she comes home soon."
The boarding call for the freighter that Eiko had booked passage on
came, and Eiko flashed a quick grin. "And if nothing else, those guys are
definitely in need of ... a friend. Doyesvedan'ya, Susan. Stay well."
"You too," Ivanova replied, her eyes momentarily wet.
"And tell her," Eiko said quickly. "Tell her before it's too late.
I didn't. And that was the worst mistake I ever made."
Shiko: "What didn't Eiko tell me? I hope it wasn't something too
important."
And then she was walking towards the security station. The last
child of long-dead Krypton, and of Themyscria ... the last scion of a time
when titans had walked the Earth. And all she wanted out of her life was to
find a person who had, three centuries earlier, captured her heart forever.
Shiko: "I love you too Eiko!"
"What was her name?" Ivanova called out impulsively. "If I ever
hear a rumor about her, I'll be sure to let you know."
For a moment, she wondered if Eiko had heard her. And then, just
before she stepped through the gate, she turned to give Ivanova a sad, quiet
smile. "Biiko. Daitokuji Biiko."
Shiko: (Stands very still.) "No, that's wrong. Eiko, you're really
looking for me right? I'm right here Eiko. Please don't look away.
EIKO!" (Collaspes sobbing).
And then she was gone.
-------
Okay. Why is Eiko immortal? Well, her mother is from Paradise
Island, after all. It just makes sense that she'd have a measure of
Amazonian immortality.
How powerful is she? Think the Kingdom Come version of Superman --
i.e., having absorbed enough solar energy that Kryptonite probably wouldn't
do much to him -- and then multiply that a few times. And that presupposes
that she's affected by Kryptonite at all. Let's just say that part of my
original idea for this involved her moving all two million five hundred
thousand tons of Babylon 5 out of the way of a huge spaceship on a kamikaze
course. Without a spacesuit.
Why Biiko? Need I *truely* explain that?
Shiko: (Brushing aside her tears.) "Yes, please tell me. Why? How could
you?"
(And for the record, in the clash of red-haired supergirls, Eiko has
Ranma-chan beat hands down. Think about who *her* martial arts instructor
probably was ...)
Anyway, if this appeals to anyone, feel free to write it.
Chris Davies.
The Colonel: "See, he really didn't mean it."
Shiko: "Why are all these people picking on me? What did I ever do to
them? Why can't they see what Eiko means to me? Without her, I'd,
I'd..."
The Colonel: "Maybe he's just not feeling well?"
Shiko: "I know, I'll make him soup and he'll be all better! Here chicken,
here chicken!" (Wanders back into the house.)
