You were right to suspect the Keiichi/Belldandy situation as a problem

I agree. Compared with the others, it was too simplistic.

For the life of me, I can't see Belldandy just leaving Keiichi like that.

Yes, doing so destroys the AMG universe completely. Besides, they had a 
contract. Even the Lord can't cancel it out of hand. All the fics with this 
were sad, sad ones.

I always envisioned Belldandy putting up more of a fight than that; more 

like

that scene in Yggdrasil before the First of the Fallen showed up.

If ordered by the Lord, Belldandy could no more fight it than any demon 
could fight the First of the Fallen.

It just feels wrong.....unless you intend to write another story.

Still it's a bad way to go about it.
