It's bad enough when somebody who's glanced through the manga writes the
OAV series, but then when they pick somebody who's only seen the OAV to
write the TV script...

Um, Henry? A few corrections?

TM was originally an OAV series; the manga came later. Thus the OAV *is* 
the primary reference. That being said...

a) Tenchi TV is IMHO a pale shadow of the OAVs, with relatively cardboard 
characters and grade-school humor, for the most part. I gave up watching 
it after the first four tapes.

b) After hearing descriptions of the El Hazard TV series, I was expecting 
to be disappointed again, but was pleasantly surprised. There have been a 
couple of real boners, but overall an entertaining series.
