You're confusing the OAV and TV storylines.  The stories about Aeka and
Ryouko as children are TV series.  Ryouko attacking Jurai and being

imprisoned

in the cave is OAV series.

Now, that's why I'm depressed...I finally bought and watched a Tenchi
Muyo! tape...unfortunately it was the Mihoshi Special....not that I didn't
enjoy it, with Kiyone there and all...but it really felt like more of a
fanfic in animation...yeash.  Anyway, I'm still trying to find an angle in
TM to make my first attempt at it.  I really hoped I could have used it
for my "The Son He Never Was" fic, a cross of R1/2 and OMG...though luck,
I guess.
