Much fighting in this one. Perhaps unavoidable since it *is* Dragonball,
but still - like/don't like?

                          -----dragonball-----

"KAKAROTTO!" Vegita shouted furiously as he rose from the ground,
grabbed a surprised Bra, and zoomed off at a blinding speed.

"Fa- father..." the little girl exclaimed, holding on for dear life.
Sure, she could fly, and her father had carried her before, but she
wasn't used to this kind of speed.

"Relax, daughter," Vegita snarled. "We're just going to have a word
with an old friend" - he spat out the word - "of mine."

"Ah," Bra nodded contently, understanding what her father referred to.

                                   ^_^

"KAKAROTTO!" Though the flight had given him some time to calm down,
the Sayajin prince still had fury written all over his face.

Gokuu, having sensed the other's approach, had already stepped outside.
"Hey, Vegita!" he said cheerily. "Good to see you again!"

"Kakarotto," Vegita snarled, his voice like ice as he approached
slowly, clenching his fists hard, "I heard from my son you've had Goten
engaged."

  "Yep."

"What," he said, barely able to contain his anger, "happened to *our*
little agreement? We are the last pure Sayajin - our families *must* be
united!"

"Oh." Gokuu scratched the back of his head, smiling apologetically. "I
guess I forgot."

That was the last drop. "I'LL KILL YOU!"

"Great! It's been a while since I had a good workout!"

                                   ^_^

Meanwhile, his daughter had run inside, surprising the others at the
dinner table.

"Are you Goten?" she asked, pointing at the boy.

Rising from the table, he smiled. "Yep," he said, "and you must be
Bra-chan.

He wasn't prepared for what came next.

The little girl threw herself at him, hugging tight and suspending
herself above the ground. "Father says I'm going to marry you one day,"
she stated, matter-of-factly.

"..." Goten felt a strong urge to fall forward, but unfortunately, part
of the reason was a little girl hanging from his neck, and falling would
mean she'd be crushed beneath him, which ruled that option out. Instead,
he was forced to remain conscious. Sweating he scratched the back of his
head uncertainly, generally not saying to much.

Bra released her grip, sinking to the ground. Tears were slowly
starting to form in her puppy-like eyes. "Don't you..." she began,
faltering, "don't you like me?"

Panicking, Goten picked her up, hugging her again to comfort her,
desperately trying to figure out what to say. During the past ten years,
he'd learned everything there was to know about dealing with opponents in
battle, but nothing about how to deal with fourteen year old girls saying
they were going to marry you.

                                   ^_^

Getting up from the ground and brushing off some dust, Vegita glared
angrily at Kuririn, who had rushed out.

Kuririn glared back, just as angrily.

"Thanks for the workout, Vegita!" Gokuu said, but was ignored by them
both. Shrugging, he went back inside.

"Goten's going to marry my daughter," Vegita stated confidently.

"My daughter," Kuririn said, just as calmly. "They're perfect for each
other."

"GOTEN NO BAKA!" came a shout from within, followed by the sound of a
heavy blunt object impacting with flesh and bone.

The staring contested continued for what seemed like an eternity,
neither "friend" willing to give up. Finally, the Sayajin snarled.

"BRA!" he shouted, picking up the little girl as she came rushing
outside. Rising from the ground, he snorted. "We'll discuss this again,
little man."

                                   ^_^

The second day at school was as boring as the first one, and as always,
Goten was fast asleep when lunch hour finally came. Today, even the guy
with the chalks got the message, it seemed.

He'd expected having to go searching for his old friend, but it turned
out not to be necessary. In fact, Trunks waited for him right outside the
classroom.

"Hey, Trunks," he began, wondering why the other looked so upset, but
the older boy interrupted him.

"I thought we were friends!" he accused, angrily.

"Uh?" Surprised, Goten didn't know what to say.

"Leave," the other boy warned, "my sister alone."

"Ano..." Goten's brain was still frantically trying to digest what was
being said.

"If you don't stop hitting on her..." - he crackled his knuckles
menacingly - "...I'll kick your ass!"

  "Ano..."

Without another word, Trunks turned and left.

                                   ^_^

Goten and Marron walked home side by side.

They went to the same school - at ages 15 and 17, both were in
highschool - and lived at the same place, so when they got off school at
the same time, they'd have walk together, and that's all there was to it.

If anyone had asked, they would probably both have stated firmly that
it was just a coincidence, and that they were most certainly walking
together, however much it might look like just that.

Neither of them was aware that from behind a boy, a young boy, deeply
tanned and with a strange mohawk haircut, was eyeing them intently, his
eyes narrowing every time they focused on Goten.

"Hey," Goten said on an impulse, "Wanna spar?"

                                   ^_^

After seeing the damage his house had sustained, Kuririn had insisted
any future sparring would take place where it was less likely to cause
property damage, and thus, Goten and Marron now levitated in the air a
couple of yards above the residence.

From the ground, Gokuu watched interestedly, shouting a comment every
now and then. Sometimes, bypassing city residents stopped to stare at the
pair.

"GA!" Marron struck out upwards with her fist. Goten dodged back from
the uppercut, but didn't spot the punch she sent to his midsection almost
simultaneously in time to stop it from impacting with his gut, making him
double over, which gave the girl time for a swift front kick, hitting his
jaw heavily and sending him flying backwards a short distance.

Focusing his Ki as he somersaulted to an upright position, Goten
stretched his hands towards her. "HAA!" Marron barely managed to sidestep
the energy blast, and was unprepared for the fist which came flying into
her stomach.

                                   ^_^

Meanwhile, Bra flew through the air, heading for Kuririn's residence.

She'd been only seven years old when her father first told her she was
one day going to marry the son of one of his old friends. She hadn't
argued. Her father was always right, and always knew what was best. He
just couldn't do anything wrong, though she wondered why he had always
insisted she wasn't allowed to tell her mother.

Since then, she'd had more than enough time to prepare herself
mentally. Her father said they were going to marry, and that she would
be happy, so obviously, this Goten must be strong and handsome.

She had to admit he did look a bit rough when she saw him for the first
time, but since her father was always right, it was probably just a bad
day, and certainly, he was cute despite the sloppy clothing.

Thus, she didn't doubt she and Goten would one day marry, or see any
reason to wish otherwise.

  Her father had said so.

                                   ^_^

As Goten dodged a blow that would otherwise have broken his nose, he
noted someone approaching in the distance, and turned to look.

As the girl came closer, he soon recognized her. "Hello, Bra-chan!"
he said, waving a hand and smiling uncertainly.

"Hello, Goten-sama!" Bra looked at her new idol admiringly.

Marron wasn't pleased. _We were sparring! How dare he just stop and
ignore me like that!_ Her aura began to flare with energy as her Ki grew
rapidly, and just as Goten turned back towards her, both her fists hit
his head from above.

Knocked unconcious, the boy fell to the ground, crushing the mailbox
beneath him as he impacted heavily with the ground.

Concerned, Bra flew swiftly to him. "Are you hurt?" She hugged the limp
body fiercely, a tear appearing in the corner of her eye. "Please don't
be hurt, Goten-sama!" She looked furiously at Marron, eyes narrow. "I'll
kill the stupid girl for you! Don't you dare touch my Goten!"

Still eyeing her "rival" intensely, the little girl concentrated
deeply, her pony-tail rising upwards as she turned super-saiyajin.
Stretching her hands out towards Marron, she growled as a ball of energy
swiftly formed between her palms, and would have appeared very menacing,
if she wasn't a little girl wearing a white dress covered by red dots.

"FLASH!" With the shout, the ball of energy flew swiftly towards its
target. Marron flew upwards just in time to avoid being hit by the blast,
but to no avail, as it simply exploded, throwing her off balance and
seriously shredding the Kame-gi she wore.

Before her opponent had time to regain her senses, Bra sped into the
air, impacting heavily with Marron's chest and pushing the breath from
her lungs. The younger girl followed up with a swift jab which sent her
flying backwards.

Marron managed to clear the dust from her eyes in time to avoid a side-
kick, grabbing the leg, but in the air, it didn't matter, as Bra threw
a front kick with her other leg, forcing Marron to release the hold, and
struck out with a flurry of punches.

"AYAABABABABABABA!" Every fist glew with energy as it hit Marron's
head or torso, and soon, she crashed to the ground, unconscious.

The anger still in her eyes, Bra pointed a palm towards the body, her
entire arm crackling with energy as she concentrated for the final blow.

"STOP!" Goten shouted. Having regained consciousness, he'd been
watching the fight warily. While curious about their fighting skills, he
didn't want either girl to get hurt.

Bra nodded and released the energy, returning to normal as she sped off
towards her home again. She didn't want her Goten-sama to see how
exhausted she'd become.

                                   ^_^

Bulma picked up the phone. "Capsule Corp ... Oh, Hi Chi-Chi!"

"Say, Bulma," the other woman said, "My husband came by yesterday, and
he said he'd engaged Goten..."

Bulma interrupted her. "Yeah, Vegita told me that soon after Bra's
birth, he convinced Gokuu to have her engaged to Goten, 'cause we were
the last Sayajin families. Didn't tell me anything until now, though."
She sighed. "Men!"

"..." Chi-Chi stared in shock at the reciever.

  "Chi-Chi? Chi-Chi? Are you there?"

After a couple of seconds, Bulma returned to work. "Guess she hung up."

  "..."

It took Chi-Chi a while to regain her senses. "SON GOKUU!" she shouted
angrily, as the clouds rumbled omniously outside.

                                   ^_^

Other than a monitor, a keypad and a speaker, near what was most likely
a door, of the type sliding upwards, the plastic walls of the small room
were simply black. A small window, on the wall opposite the door, showed
the stars outside the ship. The only furniture was a high-tech looking
bed somewhere in the middle.

It's occupant, dressed in a dark green nightie, had purple skin, she
was devoid of hair, and her narrow nose came to a very sharp point, but
other than that, she was most certainly a young girl, somewhere in the
mid-teens, and other than the oddities, quite good-looking.

She yawned, rubbing the sleepiness out of her eyes.

"We will be arriving at our destination in a couple of hours, miss," a
computer voice announced over the speaker. "I took the liberty of waking
you up."

The girl nodded, rising to sit on the edge of the bed, stretching her
arms towards the ceiling as she yawned again and then snapped fully
awake.

  "Soon, Goten," she mused. "Soon."

                                   ^_^
