[Warhammer comes from the light.]
WH: As Phil Collins once said, "Things can change, from a
misunderstanding. Nobody talks, nobody hears. Makes me wonder why
doesn't anybody stay together anymore?" A case so similar occurs in this
chapter.
Teknos Warhammer presents
Machine's Blessing:
Part 3:
A Common Misconception
A crossover between Teknoman and Oh My Goddess!

Megumi's frown deepened as Mara called her by a nickname she so
despised. "So, you're back."
"Looks like your brother has told you about me. Well, it was only a
matter of time. Now I'm back to get revenge on those goddesses and
you're going to help me." She said, hopping off the small counter.
This time, it was Megumi's turn to smirk, "And what makes you think
that?" Mara never got a chance to answer as Megumi vanished into thin
lines and right behind the demoness. Mara was just about to turn around
when she felt an overwhelming weight on her back. Not only that, all of
her powers had been sealed, it could only mean one thing.
A holy ward was planted onto her back. She planted her hands to the
floor to keep the ward from pinning her. She gritted her teeth as she
saw Megumi kneel in front of her, a very deep frown on the younger
Morisato's face.
"So, you possessed me just to get my brother and Bell. Well, I don't
take too kindly to people who annoy Onichan or to people who think they
can use me. So, I'm going to make sure you don't for good!" With that,
her right hand started to glow white and as much as Mara tried to get
away, it was all in vain.
Megumi pressed her hand to Mara's forehead and she could feel Mara's
evil demonic power quite easily. It hurt. Gritting her teeth, Megumi
began to chant in some text that gods and goddesses were not even
supposed to say. At last, she proclaimed,
"[{<\ABSORB/>}]"
With that, everything about Mara's mind and power was being taken from
her body and transmitted into Megumi's.

Time: February 23, 2100
Place: Remnants of San Francisco
From the ruins of the battle, a pair of figures staggered from the
rubble. The smaller of the two seemed to be supporting the larger armor
covered figure.
Teknos Halberd, almost devoid of strength, tried his best not to be too
much of a burden on Megumi Morisato. Yet, she didn't mind as she helped
him to a place where he could rest.
After reaching Ringo's old home, Megumi placed him against the doorstep
of the deserted building. After taking a breath from the exertion she
placed in brining him here, she said, "On our way back, I could tell
that someone was watching us. I'm going to check it out to see whom it
is. I'll be back."
Ringo was too exhausted to complain as Megumi walked out of the
grounds of his home.
*************************************************
Like a spider, waiting in its nest for a fly, a shadow watched Megumi
leave Ringo. Instead of focusing on Ringo, like Lance did, it watched
Megumi carefully. Even though the nature of its enemy wasn't known, it
still decided to take caution.
After following Megumi for a few blocks away from Ringo, it decided the
time to strike was now.
*************************************************
Megumi knew for a fact she was being watched. But she couldn't tell who
and where it was. The demonic power interfered with her ability to seek
out enemies and as far as she could tell, the enemy could attack at any
moment.
Her suspicions where justified when she saw a large orange and black
suit of armor leap out of the darkness with a massive scythe in it's
hand. She jumped out of the way in time, only to see the suit of armor
charge again. In response, Megumi slammed her fist to the ground and
immediately summoned some help.
Three small trenches suddenly appeared in front of her and, from an
invisible source, charged the large suit of armor. The earth claw pushed
the suit of armor backward into a far off wall, but that was as far as
it went. Holding the invisible monster back with one hand, the teknoman
brought it's other hand up and slammed it into and through the small
body of the creature.
Megumi hated to see something like that fail, but she didn't have that
much time to mourn as the suit of armor charged again. Jumping over the
enemy, she tried to make a mad dash back to Ringo. Yet, she went no
further that fifteen meters before a light blue string caught her foot
and tripped her.
She cursed under her breath. She rolled away from the point of the
scythe digging into the ground, where it would have pierced her back.
Yet, she was stopped a blade stabbed her cloak, holding her still. She
looked up to see the glowing blue eyes of the teknoman through its
helmet.
Just as when it was about to say something, Ringo collided with the
other teknoman and forced it back several feet. After it got it's
bearings, it screamed with a rather feminine voice, "What was that for
Ringo!?"
"Tina! I don't recall our orders saying anything about attacking
civilians!"
"Well, I can tell for a fact that this this thing here is not a normal
civilian. And besides, what would she be doing all the way out here?"
It was Megumi's turn to get into the argument, "What if it was the only
place I could go! It's not like there's another town just a few miles
out. There's not a single town for miles around!"
"You don't expect me to believe that!"
"Well, you're going to have to believe it because it's the truth."
Ringo once more took the defense for Megumi, "Anyway, what are you
doing out here?"
"Don't you recall? I got that scream of help you sent out when you
found Lance. But when I saw the explosion, I figured you were lost.
Instead, you've been here with this all the time."
"Hey! Lance was here!"
"And you beat him by yourself?"
"With her help, yes."
"Oh, cut the bullshit Ringo!"
"It's not!"
"Then prove it!"
"Shouldn't the explosion and crater be enough?"
"Truthfully, no!"
"What more do you want?"
"I want to know exactly HOW you beat Lance with her help."
Out of patience with Tina, Megumi stood up and screamed, "I summoned a
berserker spirit, which gave Ringo the extra power he needed to stop
Lance and save the both of us!"
Tina turned to Megumi and glared through her helmet, "So? What exactly
did you get out of it?"
Starting to lose composure, Megumi continued, "I didn't want Lance to
hurt Ringo. There was nothing more I could do, my power is as limited as
it is."
Smirking beneath her helmet, Tina turned back to her fellow Space
Knight, "You know Ringo, I'm ashamed of you. After Shara, you start to
go after other girls."
Megumi's eyes widened, "What?"
"You didn't know? Well, as it turns out. Ringo started to develop
feelings for a girl who was dying the very moment he met her. And
instead of letting her alone, he played the white knight and was there
for her pretty much of the time. So, they might have been a couple had
she not been doomed to die. Even until this day, her death's been
bugging him like the plague."
Ringo had his back turned to both girls, his head lowered in shame.
There was a reason why he never said anything. Even though Shara had
told him not to let her hold him back, he couldn't help it. He turned
back as he heard the sounds of what appeared to be sobbing.
Megumi's cheeks were starting to moisten with her tears. Ever since she
left Ringo that spring, she had come back to watch him grow. But in
secret. There were reasons why she kept on returning to him as he grew
into a good man. She looked at him proudly when he left to join the
Space Knights, but still had a nagging feeling that something big was
going to happen.
Another reason was, he was the only one who could see her when she was
hiding. With her defenses down, anyone could. Yet, she couldn't tell
exactly why he was able to see her, but she was glad that she wasn't
alone anymore. She didn't want to be alone anymore, she wanted a friend,
a confidant, anything that resembled company. Yet, she never counted on
the fact that her feelings of friendship for Ringo grew little by little
into something more.
Now, her heart shattered to hear that the man she loved was in love
with someone else. She continued to sob as her head hung low. Then,
small lightning bolts began to develop about her. She looked up to Ringo
again and whispered,
"I'm sorry Ringo. I made another mistake."
Then, the large lightning bolt took her place and went into another
open circuit. He was speechless at what happened, but then scowled at
Tina's response.
"Well, so much for her."
"You can be such a bitch Tina, you know that?"
She didn't appear to take offense as she powered up her thrusters, "I
live to please."
Ringo reluctantly followed Tina back to the Command Center, feeling
guilty and confused at the recently past events. He also felt rather
angry at Tina's attitude.
Ever since Teknos Slade's victory over the warlord Darkon, Star
discovered how Tina felt for Slade, but knew that she could never
receive the feelings he had for Teknos Star. That in turn had made Tina
an extremely bitter young woman, and everyone, including Jamison, had
felt the sting of her glare at one time or another.
Later that evening, Ringo simply lay on his bed, staring at the ceiling
in thought. Yet, most of his thoughts were focused on Megumi and her
crying face. Also, Shara's last words to him echoed in his mind several
times. Ever since he discovered that all of his family was gone, he was
confused to the point where he didn't know what to do.
What could he do?
End of Chapter 3
[Warhammer comes out again.]
WH: The exposition chapter ladies and gentleman. Let's give the actors
a round of applause!
Now, all the reasons for Tina's mean streak, Megumi's choice of men,
and Ringo's guilt are out in the open. What do you readers at home
think?
Also, did this chapter seem kinda short? Or is it just me?
Now, the shoujoness on this chapter might be bordering on cheesy. But
remember, I love cheesy.
What's to happen in the next chapter? Stay tuned!
[Warhammer returns to the light.]
