This is why I don't write dark fiction.  I can't be cruel enough to my
characters.  I've only written one dark fic, and I was in a really bad
mood, and wanted to kill something, so I set up a family to self-destruct
and slaughtered them all.  That got the dark impulses out of my system for
the next thirty years or so.
