You forget. This is a crossover between two alternate realities. In such
cases all bets are off. There are no rules about how similar the two
realities have to be.
They're not rules "about the realities", they're rules about how we're supposed
to read the stories. When reading TIL, we're supposed to shove aside any
thoughts about what hitting one's partner means in real life, because this is
Ranma 1/2 and it just isn't all that big a deal in Ranma 1/2.
When I read a crossover, I keep shoving those thoughts aside, and the BE
parts keep reminding me not to do so. I can't manage this.
