Psychological mumbo jumbo aside, IT is a good story.
Besides after the Songfic "Death is Not The End", Sombody had to write
a follow up story.  This way, TBE Akane is now ready to get some help.

Well, IMO Death Is Not the End showed that Ranma and Ukyou had forgiven
Akane for what she'd done.  She just wasn't ready to accept it.  It 
depends on how literally you take the nightmare therein.
