Since one among our number is gone for the holidays, and another of

The squirrel was having a good morning. It managed to escape from
that nasty cat who lived across the street, the dog in the yard below
was at the vet, and it had just raided the neighbor's birdfeeder.
The squirrel sat on a branch in the tree it called home, busily
feeding on a sunflower seed. Suddenly a chill wind blew up, almost
knocking the squirrel off. As it regained its balance, the little
animal looked around the neigborhood, and froze as its eyes came upon
the huge swirling vortex hovering six feet above the street.
This was something new.
The vortex swirled with a myriad of colors, and seemed to pulse with
light in a slow beat. Then, for no apparent reason, the vortex
expanded with a burst of light, and four men fell in a tangle to the
street below. With a final pulse, the vortex shrank out of existence.
The men stayed there, unconscious, for several seconds, and the
squirrel took this opportunity to scamper out on a tree limb to get a
closer look. One of the men groaned and started to move. His
motions woke the others, and with a great deal of grunts and curses
the men managed to get to their feet.
One, dressed in traveling clothes dyed shades of purple, looked
around frantically. "Hikaru-chan? Hikaru-chan? Where is she?"
His questions struck a chord in the others, who began looking around
as if they were searching for someone. "Hey, Urd and Skuld are
gone!" The tallest of the men exclaimed. He was dressed in shades of
black and green, and wore a trenchcoat. "What the hell is going on?"
Another, a young Asian who wore glasses, jeans and a sweater looked
around as well, calling for "Nanami-san."
The fourth, in a gold and blue sentai outfit, took a moment to look
around, but didn't call any names. He looked at the others angrily.
"I don't know who you are, but you better bring Sakura and Trident
back _now_," he growled, and pulled a small gun from his belt,
pointing it at the others. He added with a smirk under his helmet,
"Or this is going to get _really_ messy."
The others looked at him in suprise. The tall one narrowed his
eyes, and a blue-green light swirled about him, forming body-hugging
armor and a pair of arm-blades, one longer and thinner than the
other. "Point that thing at someone else, sentai-boy. All I want is
my sisters back."
The man in purple got a look of concentration on his face, and a
wind appeared to spring from the ground. However, whatever he might
have done was forestalled by the fourth's peacekeeping efforts. "Hey,
wait. Stop," he began. "I think we're all missing someone. We don't
need to get violent, here."
"All right," the sentai said, and lowered his weapon. "Maybe we
should introduce ourselves. I'm Flashman." He holstered the gun
before continuing. "I'm missing my friends Sakura and Trident."
"Andrew Huang," the fourth man said. "My g--er, friend, Nanami."
"Christopher Angel," the tallest offered. "My sisters, Urd and
Skuld."
"_God-Boy_?!" The man in purple exclaimed. "You've _got_ to be
kidding me." He looked Chris up and down. "I expected someone
taller," he joked, and grinned. "I'm Lurker," he explained, and
grimaced. "Hikaru's gone. Kuso...if I knew _this_ was going to
happen, I wouldn't have installed that SuperMST system!"
"Wait a second," Flashman interrupted. "You installed that thing
too?" He turned to Andrew and Chris with a questioning look.
"We were using it too," Chris confirmed. "And _don't_ call me
God-Boy."
"This is too weird," Andrew said. "Were you guys going to MST
Undocumented Features as well?" The surprised looks on the others'
faces confirmed his question. "We all were using that SuperMST
thing, we were all going to review UF, and we're all here now, minus
our friends." He frowned and looked at his hands. "If this wasn't
real life, I'd think it's anime."
Any further discussion was interrupted by a girlish scream.
"AAAAAAAAAAGH! Iamsolatewhydoesthisalwayshappentome?!?!?!"
They whirled to see a red-haired blur comming down the street
towards them. With a crash that made the others wince, the blur
collided with Lurker, sending him to the ground, and revealing the
blur to be a familiar red-haired girl.
"OhI'msosorryMamoruIdidn'tevenseeyouI'msolate!" With that, the girl
stood up and ran down the street.
Chris stared after the girl, "Lurker, wasn't that Hikaru?"
"Couldn't be," Andrew mused. "She doesn't wear odango."
"It was her," Lurker said. "I'd recognize that body anywhere."
"Oh, really?" Chris asked with a grin. "And why is that, my
purple-haired friend? Were all my jokes really _that_ close to the
mark?"
"None of your business," Lurker replied loftily, and then his
demeanor turned more serious. "Hikaru-chan! Wait for me!" With
that, he ran off after the girl.
Chris arched an eyebrow at the others. "Well, she's our only lead."
They exchanged a shrug and they sprinted after them.

"Mamoru, you jerk, let go of me, I'm going late for class," Hikaru
said, squirming in his grip. They stood outside some school gates,
and earned some curious stares from the students entering.
"Hikaru, what are you talking about?" Lurker demanded. "It's me,
Lurker! Why are you dressed up like that?" He paused, and looked at
her hair. "I like the odango, though, they're cute."
The red-head blushed crimson, and began to stammer. "B-but, Mamoru!
I-I-I don't know what to say! You really think I'm cute?" she asked,
with hearts in her eyes.
"Usagi-chan," another girl's voice interrupted, "you're going to be
late." Lurker looked up to see a shortish brunette with a cute face
looking at them.
"Tell Mamoru that, Ami-chan," Hikaru replied.
"Lurker!" Chris yelled, running up. "Man, you run fast." He spied
the brunette, and stopped in shock. "Skuld! Thank Boss I found
you!"
Skuld looked at him with a quizzical look. "Yuuichirou, why are you
calling me Skuld?"
"Because it's your name?" Chris said, confused. Flashman and
Andrew ran up.
"Usagi-chan! What are you doing out here, we're going to be late!"
Another girl ran up and grabbed Hikaru, and began dragging her
through the gates. Spying Andrew, she grabbed his arm as well.
"Come on, Umino-kun, you should know better than this!" With that,
she pulled them through the gates.
"N-nanami-san!" Andrew stuttered.
"Goodbye, Mamoru. Yuuichirou, Motoki," Skuld said politely as she
followed the others. The gates to the school closed behind them.
The three remaining men stared after the girls in shock. "Hikaru
thinks she's Usagi?" Lurker said in a stunned voice.
"Skuld thinks she's Ami," added Chris in a similar tone. "And I bet
that was the Nanami Andrew's missing." He frowned. "She called him
Umino. She called _me_ Yuuichirou."
"They think I'm Mamoru?" Lurker said, still dazed.
"Who's Motoki?" Flashman wondered. He snapped his fingers as
inspiration hit him. "If Hikaru thinks she's Usagi, then she also
thinks she's..."
As one, the three men said the name. "Sailor Moon!"
A moment of silence fell, then Flashman turned to Lurker. "So, how
do you look in a tux?"
