Being the typical middle-American type of guy, I don't know nearly as
much about Japan as I would like to when I work on my fanfics. My
question for you all is - what do you use for information? Is there
any particular source(s) that you prefer? I can name a few cities, a
couple of Japanese dishes (sushi, okonomiyaki(sp?), and ramen are
about it), and that's just about all I know.
Well I did a study of Japan for one of my college courses. Most of my
source material is either from the library (which is easy to get to in my
case) and the internet. The nets a little tricky but the city names I
grabbed off of one informational site, Just do a search for specific
details. I found a really cool site (which URL I lost) that listed cultural
details about Japan and some of there norms and socail ettique but I found
it by searching through Yahoo.
If the library is easy to get to (or you have the time) I'd start there
first, there should be some good reference books. The internet's only draw
back is that you tend to have to sift through stuff to find the peice of
information you want.
