I might as well state right off the bat that I've never written WAFF
before. I know what the acronym stands for, but the entire concept is
foreign to me. So, to get to the crux of the matter, I was doodling some
odds and ends in my ever-present sketchbook (trying unsuccessfully to
get in the mood to work on Hidden Fires part 4) when I drew a nice little
pic
of my fav anime couple (if you have to ask... ahh, whatever ;) in a nice
romantic embrace (and to all you hentais out there... DON'T even THINK
it!). Now that in itself is odd... but then my little mind began churning
and before I knew it, I had Beethoven's "Moonlight Sonata" playing and was
writing a nice, tender scene without any angst, just ... happiness. About
this time I begin to wonder if I've truly gone insane; everyone told me
I'd go off the deep end sooner or later....
So now my question is, is anyone willing to review this little piece of
fluff? I'm trying to decide whether or not it's worth saving to go into a
future fic or not.... and I'd like to know if I'm anywhere close to getting
the WAFFy feeling. Anyway, here it is.....

..... Their noses bumped together; Momiji pulled back, giggling softly as
she saw the deep orange blush spread over Kusanagi's cheeks. "Nani?" he
asked, embarrassed.
"Nothing," she laughed, "but you look cute when you blush!"
He raised an eyebrow; then, out of the blue, he reached over and
began playfully running his fingers up and down her sides. "Aaahhh! Stop
it!" she squealed, slapping at his hands. "You know I'm ticklish! Cut it
out!" The young man took her laughter as an invitation to tickle her even
harder, attacking the sides of her torso with a devilish grin. Convulsing
with laughter, Momiji stepped back away from him and tripped over her own
foot. "Oh, no- Kusanagi- whoa-........!"
The teen flailed about and clutched onto the collar of his shirt
in a desperate attempt to steady herself. Caught by surprise, Kusanagi
couldn't keep his balance in time. The two toppled over backwards, landing
heavily on the tatami. She was sprawled out over the floor giggling
uncontrollably; he towered over her on his hands and knees. Her protector
chuckled softly. "You look cute when you blush, too," he said softly.
Their eyes suddenly locked; Momiji could see her eyes mirrored in
his slitted pupils, could see the hesitation and the love reflected there.
He leaned down and slipped a strong arm under her, lifting her up to him.
Time seemed to slow to a halt as the two young lovers leaned towards each
other. Their lips met; the teenaged princess found herself caught up in a
rush of emotions as she leaned into the embrace. She clutched at his
shoulders, drawing herself as close to him as she could. The kiss was slow
and leisurely as they savored every second of the embrace. She could taste
the salt of his skin on her lips, could feel the soft puffs of his breath
on her cheeks. After an eternity, they slowly pulled apart.
"Kusanagi-" the teen began, but he put a finger over her lips,
silencing her.
"Don't speak," he whispered. "I just want to look at you...." He
cupped her head in his hands, tracing the outline of her face with one
finger. "I was so scared.... during the matsuri, I mean.... I thought I
had lost you forever...." The back of his hand brushed against her cheek
ever so gently; he gave her the faintest of smiles and lightly kissed her
on the forehead. "I love you, Fujimiya Momiji," he breathed.
She took his large hand in both of her dainty ones and laid it
over her heart. "I love you, too, Kusanagi Mamoru," she said. Her eyes
seemed to smile at him; she curled up next to him on the floor and rested
her head on his chest. "I wish we could stay like this forever," the
princess whispered.
"So do I, Momiji-chan," he said, wrapping his arms around her.
Her fingers traced a lazy pattern over the fabric of his shirt,
brushing over the mitmas on his chest. "But we'll always have now, ne?"
she asked hopefully.
The young man smiled down on her. "That's right," he whispered,
gently stroking her long chestnut hair. "We'll always have this moment
together...."
The young couple sat together like that, each snuggled against the
other, until the sun began to light up the skies once again.
