And yet (and this really bothers me for some reason) whenever Ranma (as 
a woman) is drawn standing next to Akane, Ranma is *taller*.

I don't get it.  Must be some kind of weird time/space distortion Star 
Trek field thingy.  Ranma must grow about four inches whenever she 
approaches Akane.  When they separate, Ranma shrinks.

	Well, I never noticed that about Ranma, in particular, but
apparently, the height change thing isn't completely unique. There have
been similar things in Marmalade Boy, where most of the male characters
seem to shrink for a few scenes, so as to be a) closer in height to their
girlfriends (makes kissing a little easer ^_-) or b) appear to be more
intimidated when someone is chewing them out.
