Hi there everybody, this is Trom with another little short fic that I
had just thought about. I got it from reading another fic, although it
was just something that stuck in my head. This is just little ruff
something. I don't think I'm too good at suspense so be gentle although
fair in your C+C.

		The Angels of Apocalypse

Jerome rushed back from the mystic bookstore that he had come
across a couple of weeks back. It was funny that he should notice it
just when his life was turned upside down.
For you see it was just a year ago while driving home late one
night. His wife Mary was doing the driving as he had partied to hard
that night. Mary had not drunk any alcoholic beverages for it was
against her person beliefs. Something about purity of spirit and all
that nonsense. Hey as long as it allowed him to have a few drinks at
parties and had ride home afterward. She would just smile and berate
him for his indulgences. She loved him anyway even for his faults.
Unfortunately not everyone had their sensibilities. For that
night when they were driving through an intersection, they never even
saw the lights of the upcoming car as it barreled into Mary's side of
the car. The seatbelt and the airbag were not enough to save her, while
it was just enough to protect him. One minute they were merrily
enjoying their holiday season, the next he was a widower. Why?! Because
some snotty son of an Ambassador had gotten high that night and decided
to show off his new cars to his most resent one-night stand. She didn't
survive either.
Don't get me wrong Jerome did not come out of the accident
unscathed. His leg was crushed between the dashboard and his side of
the car door. Also a piece of the windshield had lodged itself into his
right eye. The physical damage was nothing compared to the mental
anguish at the loss of the love of his life. They had to sedate him for
two days strait.
When he had fully come to his senses, he was more enraged than
grief stricken. The little piece of *hit that killed his wife and
crippled him didn't even spend the night in the jail. One call from him
and he was off. Not even a slap on the wrist! He killed two women and
crippled one man! When asked about this, he was told that the boy had
diplomatic immunity. Oh sure, he probably had gotten a stern lecture
from his parents! And that would the be extent of his punishment.
When he had tried to go to the news with his grief and outrage,
he visited by some very serious types who forcibly suggested that he do
nothing. Then they offered him a substantial amount of money to keep
quiet. As if any amount of money could ease his grief?! The thought of
it, trying to pay him off, just so some foreign a**hole could save face!
Normally he would have refused them. Unfortunately they were a little
overbearing in their insistence, that if he did not except the money and
be quite something would happen to him. There is rage and then there is
stupidity, and while he was still angry not enough so that he lost his
commonsense. So he took the money.
He might have taken the money but he did not sit idle with it.
Using secret accounts that he was able to set up, he hire a couple of
discreet Private Investigators. He wanted to know who else was being
strong armed by the government. There were more than he could even
possibly imagine. After reading report after report , he became more
and more disgusted at the corruptness of the governments and society at
a whole. He soon started using a phony name to harass the government by
way of the Internet. It was easy, as long as his friend and computer
wiz set it up for him that is. So for the next few weeks he got
satisfaction from being a ghost conscience in their machine, that was
until he found out he wasn't the only ghost out there trying to harass
the high brow of society. Ex-government employees who knew the truth
hidden behind half truths and right out lies. Jerome became more and
more discussed with society at general. Oh sure not everyone was scum
but the majority of them were. And those who weren't were probably
better off dead, it would stop their suffering at least. But how?
That's were the bookstore came in. He had found it one day when
he was just walking about, trying to the depressed feelings he had
inside of him. It was one of those mystical mumbo jumbo ones. Having
nothing better to do and looking for something to lift his spirits
Jerome went in.
At first it looked like any other spiritual bookstore. But
after looking around for a few minutes came upon a section of old used
books in the back. Some of the books looked older the country itself.
In fact many of them were in languages he had never know existed.
Needing something to keep his mind off of the problems that kept
resurfacing. He bought one of the older more dustier ones. It must
have been an antique for it was in the four figure range, price wise
that was.
It took a long time but eventually it seemed that he could just
understand what was written. How? Why? Who knew, he just did. It was
just when he had gotten more and more angry at the world. Strange it
seemed ever since he got that book his mood had gotten worse and worse.
One day while going over it he noticed something that he had never seen
before. A spell of summoning. Summon who? Those that would bring the
end of the world and the human race with it.
One would bring sickness and pain, though beauty she did wear.
Two would bring death and destruction were to whoever path they
cross.
The last seemed harmless compared to the rest, but from her came
a more painful death. For all would soon grow hungry for that she
touched became uneatable harmful, and extinction.

While many cultures had bearers of death and destruction the
most memorable of them being the Christian Horsemen of Apocalypse. They
generally were sexless individuals depending on what book you read. The
difference with these being that they were all female. Although from
their description, at least when you died you'd go out looking at a
small group of Angels. You wouldn't even suspect them of doing anything
until it was to late. For they didn't realize what they were doing,
they were passive destroyers. According to the spell they would be
summoned forth and go their separate ways. Although the Angels of Death
and War would remain together for those two were never too far apart.
Famine and Plague would go were they wished hiding out in seemingly
innocent disguises. Slowly fulfilling their directives.

The circle was complex and the requirements for it expensive and
hard to find. Jerome was more grateful for the money the government
payed him. Although it took all his money, everything he owned was
sacrificed for pay for what might have been a phony ritual. The
ceremony too three days to do. In that time Jerome could not sleep,
could not eat. For any distractions and he would have to start all over
again with fresh ingredients. If it didn't kill him first that is.
So after the required three days, fog formed in the usual
special effects when it came to demon summoning. When the four figures
finally appeared Jerome could not help start laughing as he died, for
that was the final requirement of the spell, his life. Why did he
laugh? What was so humorous about four angels of death? You see before
the accident Jerome was a extreme enjoyer of foreign animation.
For he knew who they were for haven seen them before and he knew
right off which was which. Although he wasn't totally sure which of the
two were Death and War. It didn't matter for they were partners. The
other two, well how could you not tell which was which.
The four Angels that came from the mist. Akane Tendo, Kei and
Yuri the Lovely Angels, and Kodachi Kuno. The four Angels of
Apocalypse.
