OK, thanks to all the feedback I’ve gotten so far, I’ve decided to begin this
story with a little teaser, and no, this fic is not as serious as it now
seems, and yes, the Sailor Senshi/Scouts do eventually show up. Timeline wise,
this happens sometime after the Tenchi movie, (just so I can mention Cain and
have Kyone in the story) and sometime after episode 59 of S. Moon (mostly
’cause I’m not too familiar with what happened to the senshi after that.) As
always, all standard disclaimers about the characters apply, blah, blah, blah…
(you should know the drill by now, right?)

A Tenchi/S.moon x-over (Any good Ideas for a title out there?)
==============================================================================

The sun has barely begun to show its face at the Masaki shrine, dissipating
the mist surrounding it, as we see an older man quietly speaking to his
teenage grandson.

Yosho: "Tenchi, I believe you have not followed up on some of your
		training lately…"
Tenchi (Huh?) "But Grampa, you know I spend most of my free time
training here, with you. The rest of the time, I’m either at
school, or tending the carrot fields for a certain greedy cabbitt
we both know! When am I expected to have had the time to miss
		your training? "
Yosho: "Tenchi! I am well aware of how you spend your time, but you are
not listening. I said that you had occasion to use your
training, and you failed to properly apply it. I did not say
that you had missed any of my ‘lessons.’ As my only grandson,
should any problems arise, I expect you to be able to handle
yourself properly." Taking full advantage of his grandson’s
confusion, Yosho suddenly pulls out a bokken, and begins a
driving attack, which Tenchi quickly blocks, and the conversation
quickly turns into a sparring match full of brutally quick
attacks. "You’ve done quite well against the threats posed by
those such as Kagato and Cain, but I cannot help but notice that
you fail to deal as decisively with the small daily problems our
		guests present you."
Tenchi: <bigsweats> (‘Small’ problems? Those two practically flatten half
of the house fighting each other every morning before I have even
had breakfast, and if washuu pops out of her lab, she attempts to
do ‘minor alterations’ to me or change the rooms around the
house all afternoon! And now all of this is somehow _my_
fault!?) "Grampa! You know I constantly try to… "
Yosho: Using his grandson’s discomfort and confusion to push his attack
further, while still talking in a calm, unhurried tone, Yosho’s
answer is deadly serious. "I believe it is time for you to deal
with these problems. Go, tell everyone to gather in front of the
house, and that you have something important to tell them. Mihoshi and
Kyone should be here before you begin, as well as your father."

While Tenchi is too stunned to react, and practically faints, Yosho quickly
taps his grandson with the flat side of his bokken, knocking him off balance.
When Tenchi comes to, and starts to get up, he sees his grandfather is calmly
pointing outside towards their house, behind which bright flashes and loud
explosions have begun to be noticeable. As Tenchi leaves to gather everyone,
Yosho quietly smiles and picks up part of a nearby newspaper, calmly following
his worried grandson away from the shrine and down the stairs leading towards
their house.

Well, that’s how it all starts. I hope I got the tone right for an average
Tenchi/Yosho training session, and my grammar and sp. seemed OK, but please
keep in mind this is a fairly rough draft. C & C are welcome, (please do so!)
but keep the flames on low, as I’ve had to get rid of my only really effective
flame-proofed power suit. (Asbestos fibers got into the respirator mechanism,
and the repair bill for antique mecha w/discontinued parts is insane.)
