Rumor says it has to do with her editing a series of books of stories
based on her worlds and the threats on her life and her friends live a
few months ago. The threats were detailed in an open letter she
published. It was still up on the Firebird Music catalog the last time
I checked.

I can speak to the weather or not Misty would prefer people not right
Fanfics based on her worlds, but as for the threats.  According to the open
letter she published on Firebird Arts web site, this had to do with the Dark
Fantasy Series Diana Tregare Investigation Novels
she was writting for Tor Books.

If anyone can confirm that she doesn't want fanfics then I think we
should honor the request.

If it is not possible to confirm preference in this matter it might be
possible to send and e-mail or snail mail  inquiry to her via Firebird Arts.
This might be the route that anyone wishing to write a fic based on her work
might want to take.  Based on her comments in the letter I don't think she
would object to this as long as permission was obtained first.

They are her characters after all. If  this is true, this could get WW
and the FFML in deep trouble, if we disobey her request.

It is truly regretable that a lady with such talent and skill for writting
great books, should have to put up with jerks that can't distinguish between
reality and their own sick little fantasies.
