[Background: Deep Space.  Two figures are "sitting" and waiting.  One of them

Usagi: Rei, why did he have to get US to help him respond to the MSTing!  I
wanna go to the video arcade!

Rei: Argh! Usagi, stop your whining! If you hadn't overslept - yet AGAIN - 
we'd be finished by now!

Usagi: But Andrew isn't even here yet!

[Purple light glows, and when it fades, Sailor Pluto is standing there.]

Setsuna: Andrew will not be here to respond to the MST

Usagi, Rei: [Sweatdrop]

Usagi: Does that mean we can go to the video arcade.

Setsuna: No. He just decided that since Warhammer wasn't present for the 
MSTing, he'd let us three do it ourselves, and it's time to start.

[Several more explosions and screams are heard. Turns out Erica Carter 
found our intrepid writer. The sounds soon fade out. Iczer 2 looks 
rather confused.]

Rei: Sometimes I feel like doing that to Usagi.

Usagi: Yeah, you just try it, Rei

[From the doorway, a rather tall, cat-like woman enters. She wears a 
sleeveless white robe, tied at the waist with a gold strip of cloth. Her 
grey fur has red markings on her face, shoulders, and arms. Her magenta 
hair barely covers her golden eye. At her side is her standard healer's 
staff, with gold and silver weavings around it.]

Usagi: I wonder if she can do the "Mooooooooon ... Heeeaaa[POW!]

Rei: Baka Usagi.

OPERATION: LIGHTSPHERE

PHASE ONE
CHAPTER FOUR

I2: Electric Buugaloo!

Sal: What?

I2: [holding her head] I've been watching TOO much of Warhammers MST 
tapes.

    Nagisa lay in her bed, her body curled so that her knees
were in front of her chest, blankets covering her so that only a
few curls of her dark green hair could have been seen had anyone
been in the room with her.  The pervious day had been likely the

Sal: Well, how can you see with hair like that?

I2: It something that even anime physics can't explain.

Setsuna: [Checks Andrew's notes] The top of her head wasn't covered by the
blanket.

Usagi: How can you call me a whiny crybaby?  That's so MEAN!  Waaahhhhh!!!!

Sal: [snicker]

the end of it the sensation she felt most was exhaustion, both
physical and mental.  Her physical exhaustion was due to the toll

I2: The LESS said about this... the better.

Sal: Agreed.

system, whilst her mental exhaustion was due to her mind being
overwhelmed by the sheer intensity of the sensations - fear,
desperation, anger, thrill, and finally confidence, she had felt.

I2: [Smirking] I wonder exactly HOW she reacted to them. 

Sal: [Sagely and using an old voice] Anger, Fear, these are the Darkside 
of the Force.

Setsuna: Ah, yes, I'm going to visit Yoda after we've done this.

Usagi: Since when do you know Yoda?

Setsuna: It's in Andrew's plans for a Sailor Moon/Star Wars crossover.

Usagi: When's that coming out?

Setsuna: Even I don't know that. [Reads notes] Hmm,  I wonder where he dug
up the idea of you being a reincarnation of Leia from.

I2: I was thinking more about drinking in the ecstasy of holding your 
foe's head as you tore him apart piece by piece. [Thinks about that.] 
Hmmm, makes me feel goooooooood.

Rei: Sounds like something I'd want to do to Usagi.

Sal: No wonder you were never suited to become part of the Teknos. You'd 
make Darkon proud. 

    So she slept.  But even in sleep, her mind refused to keep
still.  Its focus shifted from the present, and her newfound

Sal: Too much sugar can make your mind go this way and that. Yikes.

Usagi: Hey, how can you say that?

Rei, Setsuna: [Facefault]

powers, to the future, the paths that she might take, and where
they might lead.  And then to the past, to memories long buried

I2: Jacksonville! 

Sal: What?

I2: [Holding head again.] Like before... too much MST.

Sal: Someone turn the sand dial around, it's almost full.

    The boy, older and bigger than she was, pushed her
five-year-old body over, and she fell backwards into the sand. 
He and his friend stood over her and laughed.

Sal: For some reason, I was never good at helping people with their 
pasts.

I2: [Smiling] Well, since you were disowned by your own race when you 
came back as Teknos, I can't imagine why.

Sal: [Glares at the Iczer] You enjoy causing other's pain don't you.

I2: It's the way to live.

Rei: Of course, I could live very well without Usagi causing ME pain all the
time.

"Go away, little girl, we don't want you round here!"

I2: Oh perfect, she's being jumped by a bunch of Missouri hicks!

    "Give my shells back!  You can't take them!"  Nagisa
screamed.
    "Oh, they're stupid things anyway.  We don't want them." 
The boy held her shells up in front of her, and, one by one,
broke them into pieces, dropping the fragments into the sand. 

Sal: This is why I don't treat humans with too much respect. 

Usagi: Aww, most of them aren't that bad.  Except for Rei.

Rei: Yeah, well, if you weren't such a ditz, I wouldn't act that way toward 
you!

Usagi, Rei: [Tongue-sticking-out contest]

Nagisa stared in shock for a few seconds, and then...
    "WAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"  She sat up in
the sand, tears streaming from her eyes.  One of her tormentors
picked up a handful of sand, and walked toward her, preparing to
shove it into her mouth...

[Iczer 2 covers her ears and falls over, while Salian looks on with 
displeasure.]

Rei: [Also covers ears]

    ...and was suddenly pushed over backward.  The
eight-year-old looked up, and standing over him was a dark-haired
boy a couple of years older than him.

I2: Could that be...

    "There are huge, man-eating crabs in the ocean, and if you
don't stop hurting Nagisa, I'll feed you to them!"  Cain
threatened, and the two boys immediately fled.

Sal: Oh goody, I'm hungry. 

I2: You're the crab? [snicker]

Sal: No, I happen to like seafood. 

[Usagi grabs an extra-large seafood platter out of hammerspace and eats it
all in under ten seconds]

Usagi: I like seafood too!

    "Cain!  Look what they did to my shells!" Nagisa whined, and
immediately began another fit of crying.

I2: [sees Cain] Oh... Evil looks SO adorable! 

Sal: Azusa Shiratori's attitude with Iczer 2's strength = VERY scary 
thing.

[Azusa rushes onto the stage and grabs Cain]

Azusa: Aaa!!! He's so kawaii! Chantal! Chantal! You're Azusa's little 
Chantal!!!

    Still not fully awake, she began to think about her dream.

I2: ... You know... Warhammer would have sung a song right then. And I 
think it was the same song that he tried to sing last time. 

Sal: And you hit him right?

I2: Of course! Someone's gotta.

Sal: Maybe I should be here more.

Rei: I, on the other hand, am content with hitting Usagi.

    {Why did I dream about my cousins?  I haven't seen too much
of them.  There  was the time that I dreamed about, and then our
grandmother's funeral, and ... is there any other time I've seen
them?  Oh, wait, I talked to Shara and Uncle Ulysses a year ago,

I2: [Blinks] Wait a minute... did I read that right? She's related to 
them? How? She's japanese. They're non-Japanese. 

Sal: Maybe one of her grandma's kids married a japanese person. Or the 
other way around. 

Setsuna [Reading notes again]: Nagisa Kano (Nagisa Kai's grandmother in this
timeline) had two daughters, one of which married Ulysses Carter and gave
birth to Nick and the others. Her other daughter was Nagisa Kai's mother. 

when they were about to go into space ... I never heard about how
that went,} she realised, {I hope everyone's all right.}

[Both Salian and Iczer 2 look at each other with leveled eyes.]

Sal: Let her find out. 

Usagi: Christopher "God-boy" Angel has a saying for statements like this,
you know.

    Nagisa stretched and dressed herself in one of the jumpsuits
she had borrowed from Kawai.  She pulled on a pair of soft-soled
boots, and headed to the control room.

I2: [Cheerfully] Where the bad guys eagerly await.

Usagi, Rei, Setsuna: [Sweatdrop]

    "Commander... I'm sorry, I overslept."

I2: Once more, no comments can be made. On account that we're both 
female in this case. 

Sal: Well, I might as well say it since we don't have any males to hit. 
*Ahem*  [Imitates Nagisa.]  I overslept on account on being with 
Kawai-chan.

Rei: Don't you think that Nagisa has her mind set on just one woman?

Setsuna: What inspired your interest in that particular subtext of the videos?

Rei: Hey, I was trying to make a joke!

    Candy smiled.  "Considering all you've been through, not to
mention you're saving Kawai and Yajin's lives, I think the least
we can do for you is to let you sleep in a little.  Have you even
had breakfast?"
    "No, I saw the clock and didn't think I had time."
    "Well, go and get yourself some.  That is, unless Iczelions
don't need to eat."
    "Thank you, commander."  Nagisa turned and left the room.

I2: Let's see. I'll have a Bishonen burger, a shonen Ai shake, and an 
order of Shojo salad.

Sal: And for me... I'll have a fat burger, a lard omelets and a diet 
coke please.

I2: Eww. Yuck. How can you eat that?

Sal: My rate of metabolism is pretty high. You'd be surprised. 

Usagi: See, Rei!  There IS a reason I eat so much!

Rei: Yeah, but it's not the same one.  It's that you're greedy.

    "It's about time!" responded Tina.  "I thought we were
*never* going to get those back up!"

I2: [Imitating Tina.] Now I can show my talent as a real broadcast DJ.

Setsuna: Has Warhammer seen Nadesico? The communications officer in that was
a former seiyuu.

Rei: Based on Megimi Hayashibara, no less.

    "Commander, there's a transmission coming through." Sara
said.
    "All right, put it on screen, Sara."  responded Candy.  Sara
pressed a button, and the image of Jamison appeared on the
screen.

[Iczer 2 reels at the large image of Jamison.]

I2: Wow... is he related to Rei from EVA? 

Sal: Ask Warhammer, not me. 

Usagi: "Seraphim's Judgment" spoiler?

Setsuna: We'll find out soon enough.  Only one chapter to go.

Rei: ...

Usagi: Mou, wrong family name, Hino.

"Greetings, sir,"  Candy said.  "We haven't been able to
contact you for some time."
    "Our base was attacked by enemy Teknomen, and we've only
just managed to restore our long-range communications.  I've
called to update you on events since then."

I2: Ahh, the update that'll make Windows '95 actually work.

Pluto: No, that's not going to come out until P-Chan masters the
anti-gravity technique.

    "In the meantime, we have managed to gain some...
significant assistance in the ongoing war that you should know
about."  replied Candy.  "Yajin, go and fetch Nagisa and bring

I2: Nagisa? Significant? Yeah right.

her here".  She turned back to Jamison.  "You may want to bring
Blade in for this."

Sal: [Waves staff and draws a Z in mid-air.] Zorro, the gay blade.

I2: Do you have any idea how old that is?

Sal: Of course. But he was cute. 

[Iczer 2 sweats nervously.]

Usagi: He sure was!  The only thing lacking was the rose-throwing!

[The... 'thing' bonks off of Iczer 2 head.]

I2: Gah! There it is again! 

[Usagi falls over and lands on a lever, which opens up a trapdoor in the 
ceiling, resulting in a pile of asterisks falling on Iczer-2's head] 

    "NICK?"  Nagisa exclaimed.  "You're a member of the Space
Knights too?"

I2: Space Knight 2: The Un-called for!

Usagi, Rei, Setsuna: [Facefault]

    "Nagisa!"  For a moment, the young man's face became almost
bright.  "You're all right!"

Sal: I got a feeling that bright faces and Blade don't mix that often in 
this fic. 

Rei: Do they mix together much ANYWHERE?

    "Nick, I haven't heard from any of your family since before
they went on that space trip!  You made it back okay!  Oh, Nick,
I kept having these horrible nightmares about being swallowed up
by some kind of alien spore-pods, and I was too scared to join
all of you on the ship!  Is Cain all right?  And Shara?"

[Iczer 2 snickers while Salian look on dispassionately.]

    Blade's face returned to its usual anguished expression, and
he once again told the story of the events that began with the
Carter family's encounter with the alien vessel...

I2: A long time ago... In a galaxy far, far away...

Sal: A man made a great movie by the name of Star Wars that's being 
degraded with your using it! 

I2: Bite me!

I2: *BONK* Ouch!

[Usagi tries to close the trap door, but the attempt only results in another
load of asterisks falling on Iczer-2's head.

    "NO!!!"  Nagisa yelled.  "Nick, you're talking about your
own twin brother!  He *can't* be evil!"

I2: I'd like to break your heart and say this... yes! He is! [Laughs.]

    "I'm sorry, Nagisa, but Cain... my whole family are either
dead or serving Darkon now.  You and me are the only ones left. 
They're evil, and not wanting to believe it won't change that."

Sal: Hmm. Too bad I'm not here, I might have been able to help.

Usagi: Hah! One Starlight Honeymoon Therapy Kiss and they'll be better than
ever!

    "That's because they're under the Rhadam's control!  None of
them would ever serve him of their own free will!  Can't you see
that?"

I2: Uh, not really, because I doubt seeing them all resisting just like 
that. It would make the story boring.

Sal: As much as I hate to say this, you're right. 

Setsuna: Agreed.

    "None of that makes a difference, now.  They serve Darkon,
and we have to fight them, kill them, or everyone on this planet
is doomed."

I2: [Deep voiced] You and your daughter are doomed. 

    Nagisa looked on in stunned silence.  Destroying Lance had
been easy when he was simply a faceless monster bent on the
deaths of her friends.  But the Rhadam's slaves were now her
family.

I2: Ahh, don't you just love these kind of things? It makes way for so 
much angst.

    How could she justify to herself the murder of her family,
even if it was to save the Earth? 

I2: Easy! Just aim and shoot!

Usagi: That only works if it's Chibi-Usa.

Sal: I hope your sisters are better than you are.

END PHASE 1 CHAPTER 4
NEXT:  Blade, Nagisa, and Nami work together for the first time,
teaming up with Sergeant O'Rourke in a raid on the Spider-Crab
birthing chamber on the space ring.  But it's far from plain
sailing for our heroes, with Nagisa reluctant to fight her
family, and Blade in danger of once again exceeding his time
limit.  Also, Earth's not the only planet the war's being fought

I2: Cool. More chances for more to die!

on, and guess who's leading the fight against the Rhadam?  (If
you guessed a certain female android with pointy ears and spiky
blonde hair, you'd be right!)  She'll get some screentime next
chapter.

Sal: Uh oh... [hides behind a chair.]

[Iczer 2 begins to glow brightly. Her teeth are bared and she's snarling 
like a rabid animal.]

I2: DYNON!!! PREPARE TO DIE!!! [She tears through the ceiling, going 
after Dynon.]

[Sal peeks her head out from behind a seat.]

Sal: Wow, sibling rivalry taken to an extreme! Oh and Dynon, for your 
sake, let's hope she's in there too. I'd be a waste of a good author. 
I'll try and find Warhammer. 

Setsuna [Reads notes again]: The events of Fight! Iczer-One have occurred,
so Iczer-2's currently dead.  She'll be in the story, but not the next chapter.

Usagi, Rei, Setsuna: SAYONARA!
