  Perhaps the fact that she gets stepped on a lot in the original series?
Let's see:

Episode 2: Gets beaten by the equivalent of a 55-C, and lies on the floor
going "Ow! Ow!"

Episode 3: Is in the process of getting beaten by a 55-C, when she manages
to kill it (by accident or reflex...who knows?)...

Episode 8: Gets beaten on by the boomer near the start of the episode and
fails rather miserably at the combat training thing.

In most of the other episodes, she doesn't do much of anything in the way
of beating boomers directly, except at the end of 8.

Also, conceivably, it has something to do with the fact that her seiyuu
can't sing...at least in "Kiss, Seventeen Girl"  (Although I must admit to
liking "Q: You are my sun"...and also disliking most of Sylia's songs more)
