He walked into the nightclub, weaving his way through the crowd and finally finding a seat for himself within sight of the stage. Looking out the window next to him he saw the physical embodiment of all that was wrong with the city. The stain that was GENOM tower. His face registered disgust as he turned back to the stage. The previous band had finished playing and a man had walked on stage to announce the next one. "Tonight ladies and Gentlemen we have for you: Priss and the Replicants!" he said into the microphone, his announcement rebounding all around the room. The band walked on stage and the man's attention was captivated by the lead singer: a blonde haired woman wearing what could only be a bikini. He smiled slightly, before standing up and moving to the bar. After ordering a drink, he returned to his seat. Amazingly enough someone else hadn't taken it. Priss began singing a song that had always brought his emotions to the fore, no matter how many times he heard it. Konya wa Hurricane. Arashi no haiwei hashiri tsuzuketa Togireta yumei no ikue sagashite Nigai maboroshi subete no uso o Senaka de hajikitobashite Big city kodoku no heart to heart Minna ainomayoigo Big city namida wa day by day Nemuranai omoi o yusaburu dake As she continued singing he began to remember many things that he had sought to keep hidden from himself over the years. The beginning of his life behind bars, the death of his parents, his friends, everyone he ever cared for. He remembered being tortured wincing in pain as he again felt the burning knives being slashed across his back. He remembered being shot, stabbed and almost killed. He also remembered the good things, once forgotten. Meeting his friends for the first time, running out in the forest with his wife, playing with his son. He broke out of his reverie just as she had finished singing. Standing, he pulled an envelope out of his pocket and placed it on the table. Two words were written on the front in Caligraphic script: "Asagiri Priss". As he left the nightclub, Priss left the stage arguing with her manager. "But this is the tenth time you've done this to me!" he cried. "Look, I told you that this would happen when you became my manager. Live with it!" she replied. He left the nightclub and continued walking along the dark street. He snarled as he looked up at GENOM tower then with a sad sigh looked back down to the ground. He heard her coming before she could even see him, her red motorbike tearing past him. Almost as if she were begging to be booked by ADPolice. He turned a corner, wondering where she was going to in such a hurry. His thoughts were soon interrupted by an explosion ahead of him. He looked up with a slightly curious expression, but soon looked down again. It was not his fight. The 'whump whump whump' of helicopters alerts him to the nature of the explosion: 'rogue boomers'. The ADPolice helicopters flew overhead but he continued walking. He had almost reached his destination when two more explosions lit the night sky. The two helicopters had just been destroyed. The Knight Sabers looked up from the battle to count the number of destroyed boomers. "Were missing one!" Sylia asked Nene. "361 meters, 61 degrees 21 minutes." Replied Nene, pointing in the direction of the missing boomer. "Quickly, before it does any more damage!" panted Sylia, already running. The arrived, a minute later to find various parts of the boomer spread out all over the ground. Near the center of the circle was the body of a man dressed in blood stained tatters of clothes. Priss and Nene ran to him. "He's breathing." Said Priss "But barely." Nene added. "Where is the nearest hospital?" Sylia asked. "Ours is the closest, but I don't think he'll live long anyway." Nene replied. "Ok, pick him up Priss well take him back with us. At least we can make his last moments peaceful." Linna looked around as the others began running back to the truck. 'How did he manage to do *this* to a boomer without a gun?' she asked herself before running after the rest of the Knight Sabers. He woke up, to see over-head of him a large light. Twisting his neck, he noticed that he was lying on an operating table. And IV tube was in his arm, medical-looking computers and screens were along a wall. He ripped the IV out of his arm, and stood up. Flexing his arms, and bending a little he stood up straight smiling to himself. He then looked around him. He was alone in the room. He looked up at the cameras in the corners of the room and began to formulate a plan. Worried, he summoned a small spirit and asked it to turn off the cameras and microphones in the room. Once that was done he summoned a Net Spider, a spirit of the Virtual world, and bargained with it. Eventually he managed to persuade it to edit the scan records of his body. It had just finished when someone entered the room. Swinging about in a combat stance he was prepared to kill whoever had entered. Priss looked very surprised, he had even managed to surprise Sylia. He was in fact a little surprised to see Priss. "Wha? How?" Priss managed to get out, Sylia didn't say anything. (Word of advice: Tis better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to open your mouth and remove all doubt ;-) "Nano-tech, very expensive and un-tested." He replied quickly, not loosing his combat stance. 'perhaps a little too quickly' thought Sylia. "The scan didn't pick up on them." Sylia remarked, looking up towards the two now-disabled cameras. "Didn't it? How odd." He said, a ghost of a smile etching its way onto his face. "No, it didn't. In fact," she said as she headed towards one of the computers, "it said that your DNA is not human but a strange fusion of of human and an extinct animal's. A wolf." She hit a button and then looked at the screen. She was amazed to see the words 'Nano-Tech present: Form unrecognised." But nothing mentioning his strange mixture of DNA. "Have you been getting enough sleep lately? Maybe your job is too stressful?" He asked her. He looked at Priss then, noticing that her hand was edging towards the inside of her jacket. "Priss, please don't go for your gun. It would seem such a waste to fix me up like that only to try to kill me." He said cooly with a hint of humour. "How do you know my name?" she asked him. "I have listened to you sing, a lot." He replied, "What are you doing in this hospital?" he asked Priss, "And who are you?" he asked, turning his attention to Sylia. "I am Doctor Stingray and Ms Asagiri here found you and brought you in here." replied Sylia, "Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?" "Go ahead, shoot." he replied "Firstly, who are you?" He considered this for a few seconds before answering "I am Ookami Wylde." "Wild wolf?" asked Sylia questioningly. "It's a name." "Ok then. Did you destroy the boomer?" "Yes." "How?" "The nano-tech in my body enhances my strength and stamina." "Where do you live?" He appeared to be considering to either attack her or make a run for it. "For the hospital records." His eyebrow twitched as he warily answered her, "Flat two Kimiko street, out in the canyons." "Good, thank you. I'll just give you something to help you heal quicker, it should work even better with the nano-tech and I'll see you in the morning." She stabbed him painlessly with the needle and injected him with the liquid. "You should try and get some sleep. You better go now Ms Asagiri." He woke up the next day in his own bed.
