Preview

This is a fic series I'm planning on writing involving several Anime
characters and fandom characters all living in the same college dorm.


The fourth floor was relatively dead on Wednesday nights.  This was mostly
because the Expository writing essays were typically due on Thursday or
Friday.  Usually, all the weary first year students (for some reason
"freshmen" isn't PC or something) would do their homework, then watch
something on their respective idiot boxes.  However, it just so happened
that tonight there was a fierce thunderstorm.  This rendered all bunny ears
all but useless (cable is banned from these dorms BTW).  The only TV on the
floor that worked in these inclement conditions was the lounge set, which
was connected to an antennae on the roof.  

It's 9:27, and only two students are in the lounge sitting on a couch...

Haruka:  Nothing's on!

Michiru:  Be patent.  ELLEN's almost on!

Haruka:  Aargh!  Can't we watch Siegnfeld instead?

Michiru: That's Thursday.  "Must see TV", remmember.

Haruka:  Oh, yeah.  Danmit.

Michiru:   What?  You don't like ELLEN?  Your not homophobic, are you?
(laughs)

Haruka:  It's not that, it's just that I don't like her TYPE of comedy. 
She has this specific way of making jokes, and, well, I just don't get it.

Michiru:  Well, I guess you just have to like her TYPE of humor.

[All of a sudden an scruffy man wearing a black duster/trenchcoat runs out
into the hall.]

Haruka:  Hi, Sting.

Haze:  Very funny, but I'm not the wrestler, I'm the comic book artist. 
And by any chance watching ELLEN?  Could we please?  Please?

Michiru:  This set is locked on ABC!

Haze:  Alright! (gives Michiru a high-five and leaps onto the couch on her
left, far from Haruka)

Haruka:  Oh, please!  Don't tell me you watch this show just for the hope
of seeing some lesbo' action!

Haze:  Heck no!  I just like her TYPE of humor!  I've followed this show
since way before "the episode"!

Michiru:  Shh!  It's starting!

A voice from down the hall:  Noise Noise Noise!  Smokin' weed!  Smokin'
weed!  Doin' coke!  Drinkin' beers!  Hey, man, what up!

[Two more figures in black trenchcoats enter the lounge, one is clean
shaven with long blonde hair and a bandana, the other is unshaven with long
black hair and a hat.]

Haruka:  Well, if it isn't the original mischeif makers.  Here to sell some
drugs?

Jay:  No way man, all out.  We passed a frat house on the way down here. 
We just came by 'cause we knew the Haze-man over here would be watching
some lesbo' action!

Michiru:  C'mon,  It's no that gratuitious!

Jay:  Sure it is!  Ever since Ellen De generate realized nobody got her
TYPE of humor, she puts at least one seen with girls making out in every
other episode!  It's obligatory!

Haze:  Whoa!  Really?  I haven't gotten a chance to see any episodes since
I got to college.

Haruka:  I thought you weren't in it for the lesbians!

Haze:  Well, yeah, but it's a bonus.

Silent Bob: ...

Jay:  (walks up to Haruka)  Yeah, like this f***in d*** here!  I bet you
like that lesbian sh** don't you?  I bet after this your going to go back
to your room and mac it up with our bitch over here, right?  Heh Heh Heh.

Haruka:  (Stands up, punches Jay in the stomach.  Jay falls to the ground,
wheezing.  Haruka sits back down.)

Michiru:  (Smiles smugly) You had that coming.

Silent Bob:  ...

Jay:  WHEEEZEE!

Haze:  Jay, please!  We're trying to watch ELLEN, here!

[Just then, two more first year students walk in.  They are both soaked
from the rain.  One is short with short black hair.  The other was slightly
shorter with short hair and a pig-tail in the back.  They both look
displeased.]

Akane:  Hey, what's on?

Haze:  ELLEN!

Ranma:  Hey, cool!

Akane:  Hmmph.  I just don't get her TYPE of humor.

Ranma:  Neither do I, but this new season has obligatory lesbo scenes!

Akane:  Ranma!

Ranma:  What?

Jay:  (now breathing normally and sitting on the floor)  Hey!  Cock
smokers!  I'm trying to watch ELLEN here!  

[Ranma and Akane start arguing and sit on another couch on the far side of
the lounge]

[Silent Bob is now sitting in a chair across from them, watching.]

[Just then, a short, round, middle aged man with thin hair and thick
glasses walks into the lounge.]

Steve Pearl:  Hey, guys, what's up?

Everyone:  Hey, Steve.

Haze:  What brings you here?  

Steve Pearl:  Well, I just stopped by to return your ATHENA comics.(hands
Haze some ATHENA comics.)

Haze:  Oh, great!  How'd you like 'em?

Steve Pearl:  They were good.  That Dean Hsieh really knows what he's
doing.

Haze:  Of coarse, his comics are nothing compared to mine, right?

Steve Pearl:  No, actually his were much better.

Haze:  ...(grinds teeth)

Steve Pearl:   So, what'cha watching?

Haruka:  ELLEN.

Steve Pearl:  Oh, did I miss the obligatory lesbian action sequence?

Jay:  Not yet.

[Ranma and Akane are still arguing,  but they notice Silent Bob watching. ]

Akane:  And what's YOUR problem?!

Silent Bob:  I was just thinking that the whole reason for going to College
is that knowledge is power.  I think you both really love each other, it's
just that you're apprehensive about giving the power to hurt you though
admitting it.  And in the end you just wind up hurting each other more.

Akane and Ranma:  (look at him dumbstruck)

Akane:  (Turns to Ranma)  He's right!

Ranma:  (looks deep into Akane's eyes)  Akane, I do love you!

Akane:  And I love you Ranma...

Jay:  Here it comes!

[all eyes but Ranma's and Akane's are fixed on the TV]

Haze:  Yess!

Steve Pearl:  (claps)

Michiru:  (Giggles)

Haruka:  (grunts, in an I-could-do-better sort of way)

Jay:  Yeah!

Silent Bob:  ...

Ranma and Akane:  (playing tonsil hockey)

Haze:  Hey, Ranma, did you catch...whoops!  (turns his head back as if he
didn't see.)

Fin.
