A question related to a fic I am (slowly) working into shape. How is
Daley of BGC presented in the original Japanese? Is he portrayed in the
Japanese equivalent of the gay stereotype, or is the performance more
sophisticated than that?

Only slightly more sophisticated. I have the subs, and although he seems
to
have a bit of a personality (i.e., slightly more than a two-dimensional
character), the stereotypical gay is obvious in his character about 50% of
the
time. He isn't the "swish" type, but he does make homosexual advances
towards
Leon (who sometimes acquiesces).

When did Leon McNichol ever acquiesce? Daley may be gay, but his advances
to Leon are more joking than serious, and Leon replies in kind. Leon even
uses variations of the old "not tonight, I've got a headache" on him.

He acts mostly normal around everyone
else.

Thanks!

NP. I didn't much know what to do with him in Bubblegum Slipt, either.
Gave
him a couple of lines, and a pass at Leon, and sent him on his way. ;)

Sounds like how most people treat Linna.
